Even if the dub has been done with great acting I often feel that the body language and timing doesn't work together with english. And seeing an old japanese woman speaking english with a texas accent just feels strange.

And the dubbing of Miyazakis films are horrible. Disney (those assholes) add lines that are completely meaningless in the context. They make the storylines so obvious that you don't have to think at all.

Another point is that the voices in dubs have either too high or too low volume compared to the music and ambient sounds, but there are lots of exceptions to that rule.

We got our share of bad voice actors, but at same time we have the same share of bad seiyuus.

Sometimes, we have some very nice, even better the original voices.
Sometimes, we have bad voices, make you cry worse then the original.

Its hard to compare, japanese people and seiyuus usualy have a high pitched voices, opposed to our little deeper.
I'm used for the higher pitched voices.

The poll should also have a "I don't care, as long the anime sound good"

    I'm no extremist.

The original dub is always the best, whether its english or not. It's already hard enough to find someone to voice act with the same image formed inside the mind of many who will enjoy it.

Take Negima for example. It's a British kid, with a British accent as his voice, that's how people would see him as, but not think. I think of him as an average kid who just happens to be British. I read the manga, watched both dubs of it, and I personally think that someone just messed up. My opinion, I don't mind about what you think.

This world is not filled with people that we can just pluck and say "This is the best person to voice act as blah blah blah" However, companies have all the time in the world to find such people.

Not aways, someone gave some examples, but there are clearly some cases where original voices are horrible!!!
And sometimes the dub just is better..

And lets not mix, the anime script with the voice acting..

If negima does have a britsh accent, then its right! now if the anime itself is messed up, its not the voice problem, its the anime's

Yu Yu Hakusho. If Funimation can do a good job on a dub, it means the original wasn't very impressive to begin with.

japanese voices are always the best! dubs really suck dick. i've heard that sanji has a lollipop instead of i cigarette in the US-version. thats another reason why dubs suck, they are often censored.

If any anime dub gives a British character a British accent, they have my support. The original CAN'T do it, so that's a way for the dub to improve its quality despite not being the original. At least it shows effort, I think.
