    Default Anime or Manga about...

Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies, Magic and the lot. I mean something that encompasses everything, not just one or two. Preferably with a lot of violence, gore and good art and naturally, a good plot to tie it all in.

    So, suggestions?

I was about to suggest Hellsing until you mentioned that.

Probably Island would be your best bet.

Blood+ is about Vampires & Monsters, some magic and fighting. Gore and the art is good, but not outstanding.

I've already read Island but I'll check out Blood+. Thanks for your help.

Mahou Sensei Negima ? if you don't have the problem with the fact that 10 years old boy have his own harem ...ah, but there is a problem with this violence thing, although there is a lot of naked scenes....

Trinity Blood maybe ? Although the art is clamp'ish if you know what I mean...

I started reading Mahou Sensei Negima. It has too much ecchi to the point that it ruins the story for me. Then again, I've only read 27 chapters but in those, it felt like there was some ecchi in every other page.

^I will just tell you that there is even more ecchi in latest volumes, so maybe it's a good moment to stop reading if you dislike panty-flashers

I wonder if Claymore would qualify?

    Default Hmm...

I should make a list of all the manga I've read/tried out that at least partially qualify:

    Claymore
    Berserk
    Island
    Mahou Sensei Negi
    Vampire Knight
    Gantz

Though I've been recommended Shin Angyo Onshi on #HS
    And Tsukihime here so far.

Although I love Type-Moon work, I'm not sure if Tsukihime manga is really that good - the game was obviously better.

You most likely know about this, but baka-updates have quite neat manga-search by genre
    http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?act=genresearch
I used it few times myself and found some nice titles.

..I don't know what else..Zetman if it comes to gore and violence and monsters, but not necessarily magic...
    YU-GI-OH !! ..just kidding
