Default How many romance manga end with a wedding?

I'm just curious about this. I realised that I've read well over 50 romance mangas, yet I can count the number of weddings on one hand. But maybe it's because most of them are shounen or seinen rather than shoujo or josei manga. Can anyone tell me of any more romance manga that end with the leads actually getting married, apart from the following (spoiler alert):

    - Love Hina
    - Miyuki
    - Maison Ikkoku
    - Salad Days (arguably)

... Isn't it strange that there are so few? (And does that say something about cultural attitudes towards marriage commitments and romance being split?)

I think one of the reasons is that lots of manga still end with the protagonists as teenagers - why they never grow up, I'm not sure, but you rarely see teenagers getting married. Many end with a promise to marry, at least... although why we don't see them later, I have no idea.

The only ones I can think of are Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. (I'm not sure about the ending of Fushigi Yuugi - I think they get married in that one. Would Ranma 1/2 count? It was a failed wedding, but...)

Well, Miyuki is also a failed wedding.

The amine of Kashimashi ends with a wedding, in the OVA, but this is happens after its story diverges from the manga. Aside from that, I'm drawing blanks.

Actually, Miyuki did end with them getting married (they were on their honeymoon at that beach)... it's just that it was never shown.

It's true that most series show teenagers who at least promise to get married, but I agree with D_E. Why not also do a timeskip in the epilogue and show when they actually get married? That's what Love Hina and Salad Days did after all, and it turned out pretty well.

But even for the series that are NOT about teenagers, I don't see much evidence of marriage. I mean, Living Game, for instance, ended up with them in a love hotel of all things. Dance Till Tomorrow's ending was incredibly depressing. And even Emma, which I thought would have had strong potential, trails off halfway on the road to marriage. Not sure about NANA, REC, Sakura Tsuushin or Honeymoon Salad, but I don't think so either.

In fact, the only series which I'm following now which I think MIGHT still have the possibility of marriage is Yume de Aetara. And maybe Hotman, eventually. The rest seem to think fornicating in cohabitation is the ideal state of affairs (yes, I suppose I'm a little prejudiced. But I do believe in the sanctity of marriage quite strongly). Has the ideal of marriage died out in seinen and josei manga?

Oh, wait... I think Ai-Ren also had a marriage. Not too sure. They did decide on some sort of special day, right?

In Ai-Ren, the day they first had sex, they dressed up for dinner in formal-for-wedding attire, but there was no ceremony or promise or anything. Which isn't quite close enough to call a wedding, I think. ETA: And the story continues on for some time after.

Yume de Aetara looks like it might end with a wedding, but I don't know for sure. Nana is ongoing, still, so can't tell there.

A few couples have already married in Nana, so I guess there's the answer. ^_~

W- Juliet ends with a wedding and the mangaka continues the series following the couple as newly weds. This is the only one I know of that has an happily ever after type ending. All other manga I've read usually end tragic. Like the guy/gal hooks up and one dies or they never hook up and part ways. Now that I think about it, I pick really depressing manga to read.

Ichigo 100%? I don't remember if it was implied or not, but it's there.

^ Yeah, I agree. Although wedding is not shown it is pretty obvious that it will happen.
