    Default Gantz: The Online Game?

Yesterday I was talking to a couple of friends about Gantz (the PS2 game, to be more specific). Then I thought that maybe an online PC game should be created. Just imagine it for a second.

A 3D game with different servers (in-game, they would be cities or states). I was thinking of something like GTA: San Andreas, but focused mainly on Gantz. Each city has 2 rooms, and there would be like 3 cities per state. When you register your account, you have 3 different character blocks, like Ragnarok Online. Once you make your account, you're put in a random room.

The rest is easy. The more aliens you kill, the more points you get. At first, you get the X-gun, the Y-gun, and the map. As you get more points, more weapons become available. When you get 100 points, you can get a random ultimate weapon (let's say there are 3 or so). About the options: #1 would have to be changed into something different, because you don't want to leave. So, let's say your friends are all in a different room. You get to leave your current room and change to the room you want. #2 would be the same, and #3 would enable you to revive any character from the database.

If your character dies, then you can no longer use it unless someone revives it. This adds an extra difficulty to the game. If all your characters get killed, you suck, and should not play. I was thinking also that, maybe there should be an animal per room, but it's a NPC (non-playable character).

The good thing about it being a PC game would be that it'd have a website, and any bugs can be patched, etc. Apart from the fact that people can submit their own creations (aliens), and as long as there are fans, there would be aliens to fight against.

What do you guys think? It's a sweet idea in my opinion. I hope Mr. Oku or someone does something like this in the future.

Maybe an UT2004 mod, I belive a team with great modding skills(there is a map editor, but it would only help a little bit) could do this that you envisioned, but I don't really see any reasons to play this game for a long time if getting points as easy as in the manga. The fact UT2004 doesn't have some sort of levelling up system would bother a little, but maybe there's a way around that.

True. It's like MAtrix online. When it first came out, sounded pretty good, then after awhile it's crap.

Oh I'm not saying your idea is crap though. I like the idea, but like "I-shall-rock" the game won't last long

Well, getting points wouldn't be easy. There could be EXP points, which would be different from the Gantz Points. 1000 EXP Points = 1 Gantz Point, or something like that. I assume this would keep most people in at least until they get 100 Gantz Points.

It'd be awesome if the game was kept as realistic as possible. That means no healing objects nor anything like that. The difficulty on the missions are random, but the more difficulty, the more EXP and therefore the more Gantz points. Of course, any Oni-like mission would not give you 100+ points.

Pretty Good idea. The PS2 game have only the old characters. Would be nice to create your own character to play, or to use the new ones too.

I was thinking of having each person create their own character. I was thinking of the following features: Nose width, cheek width, lip size, jaw width, eye lids, eye angle, hair, breast size, coat, pants/shorts, skirt, t-shirt, jacket, hood, chains, shades, etc. The user would be able to choose the length and/or color of the clothing, if possible.

... Yeah, I've thought of practially everything. The only real problem are the technical and legal parts.

    XD

The technical part... that's the hardest one to work. Why don't we create a team here on stoptazmo that knows something about game designing/modding or maybe ask one for help?

hmmm, if it gets done well with a story rather than just a fighting game it could be really good.

Good Idea, Good Plot, Better Talk With Hiroya Oku And Gonzo Team About It... Thats What You Should Do, But Man, If His Mail, Addres Or Telephone Number Would Be Available, A Lot Of People Have Already Taked Action On Oku.

Thinking About It, Its A Pretty Obvious Idea, So Its Probably They Have Thinked It Too, But They Dont Care Enough...

“La verdadera soledad del hombre, es la soledad del corazón, no compartir una idea y ser incomprendido,
el no amar o no ser amado, son la soledad que parten al alma y no se muestran al exterior.
Por eso para una vida y un mundo mejor, es el amor el que se necesita y la comprensión del corazón”.
