Yesterday I was talking to a couple of friends about Gantz (the PS2 game, to be more specific). Then I thought that maybe an online PC game should be created. Just imagine it for a second.
A 3D game with different servers (in-game, they would be cities or states). I was thinking of something like GTA: San Andreas, but focused mainly on Gantz. Each city has 2 rooms, and there would be like 3 cities per state. When you register your account, you have 3 different character blocks, like Ragnarok Online. Once you make your account, you're put in a random room.
The rest is easy. The more aliens you kill, the more points you get. At first, you get the X-gun, the Y-gun, and the map. As you get more points, more weapons become available. When you get 100 points, you can get a random ultimate weapon (let's say there are 3 or so). About the options: #1 would have to be changed into something different, because you don't want to leave. So, let's say your friends are all in a different room. You get to leave your current room and change to the room you want. #2 would be the same, and #3 would enable you to revive any character from the database.
If your character dies, then you can no longer use it unless someone revives it. This adds an extra difficulty to the game. If all your characters get killed, you suck, and should not play. I was thinking also that, maybe there should be an animal per room, but it's a NPC (non-playable character).
The good thing about it being a PC game would be that it'd have a website, and any bugs can be patched, etc. Apart from the fact that people can submit their own creations (aliens), and as long as there are fans, there would be aliens to fight against.
What do you guys think? It's a sweet idea in my opinion. I hope Mr. Oku or someone does something like this in the future.
