Some paranoids think that mangakas read these kind of forums to steal ideas, i don't think so. But if that is true, maybe Oku and his team will read this thread and maybe they will make the game.
i know someone who made a naruto fighting game kinda like Street Fight. I think you should definatly do this its a great idea. also an idea is that when u enter a room theyre should a be a bio of people... on like how they died and stuff. i know that seems rather useless info but itd be interesting to see what people come up with.
Then you'd get those annoying people that try to make themseleves sound good have things like 'i died having sexes with da bitch next door den her boy came in and capped me' .
I think this is a interesting idea for a mod. I always though that Gantz could have worked as a Sven Co-Op map in Half-Life 2. You could Modify the weapons and stuff, though you'd probably need to remove the weapons fireing delay.
If it were to be a on-line MMO type game, i'd think you'd need to be able to build up stats. Things like agility and health Points (they'd only become needed when your suit breaks. Suit strength shouldn't be any sort of meter you can read though)
They'd also need to have those cheap deaths that happen, like Kishimotos and Sei's (did i get that right?).
Well, it could use a system like the mod for Half life, Brain Bread. You gain lvls killing zombies, each lvl gives a point, you decide to use to get more HP, do more damage with weapons, and movement speed. And each server remembers your lvl (you have to distribute the points again when you come back though). Of course, a Gantz mod, would have to remember you appearance options too, and where did you put your points.
Also if you get 100 Gantz points, the first option can be changed by getting more bonus points. btw, it doesn't matter if you get 100 points too quickly, after all, we're talking about a game without respawning, chances are somebody is going to get killed and nobody wants to be an eternity waiting to play again. So, the less people get killed, the more powerful the team can be by choosing the other options (more bonus points or a powerful weapon), but maybe a system to force people to use the points on reviving someone else should be applied. I can see it already, the only ones who would be revived (and maaaybe) are the veterans/good players, all the newbies would have to wait for a VERY caring soul to revive them...lets face it, almost nobody would do what Reika, Old Man and Kaze did for free xD
For example the gun which shoots those weird radiation things that explode a part of you body are too powerful, at least for me. So to adjust it, the missions should contain many little opponents and maybe 1-3 bigger ones. Also the aliens can dodge the shots like in GANTZ so you have to have a good aim and shoot about 3 times to kill it. When your team has made enough alien missions you can proceed to vampire missions which are much harder.
Your team should have some kind of leader too who organizes the team and such, so newbs wont go goofing off. If this game gets donne(im rpetty pessimistic) im going to be happy happy happy.
But the hard part is coding and doing the scenes.
Mazinkaiser: That reviving thing sounds cool but if a newb gets killed and nobody revives him he has to start over in another room and he dies again and again so he wont learn and stay in newb mode forever. So thats a bad thing i think. But life is hard. :P

Have you guys heard of the game gunz? i was thinking it should be made like that.
yeah the newbs would be screwed but maybe after like a couple of days/weeks/months/etc. they can automatically be brought back to life. or what you said to have someone be forced to revive someone every once and awhile.
I love the idea but I think it would be incredibly better if you tweaked just a few things:
1.) Dying should not come with such a harsh penalty. People won't want to play if they must rely on other people, because let's face it; other people aren't reliable.
2.) Forget Gunz. I've played it and it's abhorrent; imagine matrix jumping all over a map for 5 minutes seeing who can fire the most. Annoying. Try Rakion, that game is excellent. I have always wanted to make a bleach game around Rakion, because it has classes and such, but a Gantz game on the Rakion engine would be so much better...
Also, I've toyed around with the idea in my head that the aliens our Gantz team have been fighting might be other Gantz teams... In golem mode on rakion, you fight to destroy the other teams master golem... sound familiar? But yeah, I think on a rakion engine, a Gantz game (or Bleach game) could really come to life.
Well, I differ from you, I came to like GunZ, it's one of the greatest MMORPG i had spent so much time, but again, it a lot of road to overcome to become my fav MMORPG.
But this MMO would have to have a GunZ like enviroment cuz you want to see your custom pj, don't you?
Like it's coming, the game sounds 5w337, know we only need some OpenGL experts, some sound people, a dozen of 3DStudio/LightWave/Maya Modeling Masters, some designors, a little band for the music (unless you want to use the OST od Gantz), testers, loots and loots of money, and a whole lot of time, oh, also some Software Engineers, easy isn't?
about the "GunZ, it's one of the greatest MMORPG" comment, sorry its not, i suggest you get out there and play a few more mmo's befor you say this, the game is just too limited (well the international version is anyway).
As for a gantz game i always wanted to see a isometric 2d game thats also a MMO so it would be like disgea or ff tactics, but with quite a few differences.
i was working on some graphics for this which you can see in the gantz fan art thread.
im gonna go check out this rakion now.
