    Default Izumi...

Its ironic (or maybe strangely fitting), but Izumi is without a doubt the most inhuman character in the manga - INCLUDING the aliens. He's totally devoid of feelings of mercy or compassion.

Thats not comparable to Kurono. Even in the beginning, he had compassion and humanity underneath his selfish attitude.

Izumi, blah. He's the true monster here.

I'm at 180. Please tell me Kurono or anyone else get that arrogant, heartless guy down a peg or two in the future. Izumi never had humility forced down his throat. He needs it. Badly.

You kidding? Arrogant yes, heartless yes, but he is this in a very human way. For him, it's about pride, about excitement, about recapturing lost glory. These are extremely human drives.

I don't think we've seen a character that could be called inhuman in the manner you're speaking of, and that's including the aliens. The possible exception would be the Ring Aliens, on account of they get no character development.

Yeah... he is 'human', feels like a human, but have no love for his own kind. He's a human monster. Well, I hope that the Panda can help him to develop some kind of love (At least for the animals)

Well, maybe he has human drives, but any thinking beings have drives. But without human feelings, whats the point in having them.

Glory, excitement, pride. Izumi has those. But where was the 'pride', the 'excitement', the 'glory' when he killed Tae. There was nothing but shame, heartlessness and gruesome enjoyement.

He's human, alright. A human with no real humanity. He's a shell of a man, pitiful despite his undeniable skills - skills which, personally, I think Kurono has beaten.

heh He could take pride knowing that he could do something Kurouno couldn't do. heh The whole point of his little rivalry with Kurouno was to see who the better hunter was, and seeing as he got pretty muched raped in the points department during the dino mission he, for the most part, prooved he was a ultimate hunter in Gantz because he would do anythign in order to kill the target even if the target was a human that one of them knew. And for the most part he is probably the most human out of all the gantzers for the fact that he represents how every human is essentially out for themselves and will team up if need be in order to ensure their own survival. heh Also there is speculation that Izumi has really had reason for everything he has done, even the killing of Tae, now wether thats true or not is up to you but with the way this manga has been able to show seemingly heartless characters to be kind or with good reason for their actions(nishi comes to mind here even kurouno)

heh Well Izumi showed that he is more than capable of putting up a match with Kurouno. heh Now as far as who would win is a different topic but my guess is that Kurouno decided to forget hate and concentrate on reviving Tae and the others. heh Pioritize but hate second to getting back those you love.

I don't think Izumi is the most human. What makes a human 'human' is not the ability to look out for oneself. Animals do that very well. Humans are animals, but what distinguishes them is the ability to care and see beyond their little selves.

Izumi is incapable of that. He's certainly shown it more than once. All he cares about is the fighting and killing. Fight and survive, fight and survive. Nothing else really matters, he admits it himself. Animals do that, and human animals do that.

Now, human PEOPLE are actually able to have something beyond that, able to see something ELSE than themselves. Izumi doesn't. So he's the least human of the bunch. He is the animal of the bunch. No wonder the Panda likes him. He's the closest.

And there's NO justification to some of the things Izumi did. Not if a person has some humanity, that is.

Izumi is a killer. No more, no less. He doesn't just fight and shoot to live, like Kurono and the others largely do. Izumi does it because he LIKES it.

As for Izumi being the best of the Gantzers? Not in the least. Kurono has him beat in skills and back-up. If it came to a real fight, Kurono not only could fight toe-to-toe, but actually would have a whole team aiding him. Thats because Kurono has earned respect. Izumi has earned fear and distrust.

I'm betting its gonna catch up to him like it caught up to Nishi.
