Thread: GANTZ coolest weapon

Definitely the sniper rifle thing. What can a katana do to you if you can cause someone's arm to literally EXPLODE from several blocks away?

So I see that no one agrees that the saber IS the best weapon ever in the whole story (yet because we didn't see the "ultimate" weapon).
What can you ask more:
It's close range combat, it's a saber.
It's long range combat, it can get as long as you want it too.
It can cuts anything (or nearly: aliens suck cocks so they don't count in the "cutting range" of the saber).
You get it for free (just have to move your ass in the room, where the pseudo-cool-looking-motorcycle is) so you don't have to wait for 100 points to get it which is risking your life for maybe nothing.

And lastly: IT'S A SABER !!! AND SABERS (Swords and all long ones) HAVE ALWAYS BEEN COOL (Star Wars, Zatôichi, Wo hu cang long and all the good movies , even in the games Swords, sabers and the others are cool, look cool and are powerfull)

So I'd say the Saber in Gantz |* {} |\| \/\/ 5 Y {} |_| !!111!!!!1!!

Uhh, it's not a sabre, its a katana, they are 2 different weapons.

sabre is commonly used by fencers, it's a rapier of sorts (like an epee), has a guard on the handle, is lightweight and can be used in 1 hand, it's mainly for piercing attacks but can be used in a "hack-n-slash" fashion too. the idea is to move as quickly and lightly as possible.

a katana is used by samurai (duh) and is somewhat longer then a saber, it's mainly a 2 handed weapon although many techniques can be used with 1 hand, and it mainly a slashing weapon even though you can stab with it effectively. the hilt hasn't got a guard for protection and the blade is thicker and heavier. cause of that they usually carried a wakizashi (spelt wrongly I think) that's more suited for quick slashes and stabs

they are similar weapons when you think about it, but they are clearly differently in look and use.

sooooo you got the terms wrong, and was very ignorant about it too and you even mentioned star wars (beam sabres, hahaha), so in a way, we all agreed with you, but also no one did.

but yeah, the katana has got to be the coolest weapon addition to gantz. i remember before it was used...everything was just mainly about shooting and fist fight...BOOOOOORING....then comes the katana...and cool shit slashing action was shown....definitely the coolest weapon!!

WELL i say all you need is the suit and the katana so those are the best cause the suit protects you and the katana is more reliable. Plus extensions and super strength and speed.

totally agree about the need for a variety of fighting styles. I've got no fave weapon exactly, but i'd really like to see them use the sending gun's homing net with other weapons like the katana and/or handgun. i wonder why they never interlink the usage of two weapons.

hey what do they cool the gun that has a time lag once they start playing its really cool i saw it in the anime 1st series
