Thread: Gantz Anime...

Yeah, I already had found a bath torrent, 1-26 DVD uncut eps. I just hope they work out...

There should be a vote on which is better anime or the manga. It would make life easier.

The anime look blurry and things just don't get cler...the plot is massacred too.

The manga is better, much much better and clearer (in plot and drawings) than the anime....what I like with the animeis the opening song which you don't get on opening the manga

Actually, believe it or not, i think that the old woman got 100 points and got the black ball thing like izumi telling her to get more ppl for Gantz. Insted of killing ppl like hell she just pushed the hobo onto the train tracks (while in a different frequency "aka invisibility") and knew 2 dumbasses would go onto the tracks and get their asses decapitated. Also, the anime wasnt that bad until i read the manga and i was like "daaaamn... the manga is better..."

I helped subtitle the uncut anime, and here is my opinion: Yes, the manga is better. The anime didn't explain A LOT of things that have since been explained in the manga.

Also, the anime didn't have Reika... Bastards...

And what's this about the mangaka being as bad as Kishimoto? No

Kurono IS the main character. It's *his* story we're reading about. We WILL find out what happens when he gets 100 points, but until then, he's got to go through a lot of hell to gain that much. I like that about the series.

Ok, so I rented the "Uncensored" Gantz DVD just to see what the commotion was about, and it sucked. This is why:
1)Animation sucked - It lacked style, and lacked technology. The manga used computer 3D graphics, and you'd think they'd use more of it in the anime. Not so... (or else it looks so anime-like you can't tell it's CG) Even worse, there are times when it seemed choppy. We're not in the 80's anymore, dammit.
2)Music sucked - No cool music. Opening and ending themes weren't memorable at all, and when I say that, it's REALLY bad. I mean, I usually get the opening themes stuck in my head after seeing 2-3 episodes of whatever decent anime series I watch, but not here.
3)Pacing sucked - If you thought the manga took a long time getting anywhere, the anime seems to need 3-4 times as long to get to the same spot. At least for the first 4 episodes I saw. Good god it made me want to fall asleep.
4)ADV sucked - I know they wanna squeeze as much money as they can out of anime fans, but putting 2 eps per disc was unbelievable. It's like they didn't even see the need to hide their greed anymore. I mean, what the fuck? why not just put 1 ep per disc? I'm so glad I didn't buy the POS...

I bough the Gantz 01 DVD. It is an import in one disk with only ep. 1-11. I haven't really read much of the manga so I can't compair the two. But, Does anyone know where I can get an import of Gants 02. 01 only has the 1st stage. I wanna know what happens damit!!! It only have the 1st two missions (whit the chicken people type things). I MUST KNOW MORE!!!

The anime is just as good as the manga in my opinion. There are a few filler episodes just like in Naruto anime, but thats only natural because Gantz isnt published as often as Naruto so the anime team doesnt have much to work with, so instead they create a few filler episodes. actually theres 39 episodes in the dvds and about 7-8 of them are filler episodes.

I guess since you have the 11 episode dvd you dont have 2 of the filler episodes.

Episodes 1-11? You're missing two episodes out of the first season. It sounds like you have the censored version, but I didn't think they put the censored version on DVD.

What makes it even worse was that it was an Import, and most of the time, imports are uncut.
