My thought on Kurono’s decision. (spoilers)

Ok I have to say this first Kurono is a coward for making the decision he did and a complete ahole. Can I really mean this but of course I can and I will tell you why. :(

Let’s start with the fact that now his mug is plastered all over TV and if the vampires/aliens/demons (damn there a lot of things I’m going to call them VADs) can easily track him down and kill him now. Worse yet they can use him to
trap his friends and kill them because he now has no memory he won’t know what’s going on and have no real way of defending himself.

Now for the people he didn’t revive even though he agonized over it what happened? Did he think that if he revived one he would have to revive the other? Did he think they couldn’t survive the game and it would be a waste? One thing for sure in order to not care he chose to have his mind wiped such a weak thing to do.

Abandonment of friend even when he could clearly see that Gantz is giving increasingly dangerous mission and they just survived the last one even Izumi was inspired by him to keep fighting when he had obviously lost hope of wining saving all there lives (whether Izumi was inspired by not wanting to fall behind him or by his determination I don’t care). This is by fare the worst of the thing he did by choosing selection 1. Without him I wonder how far their survival rate just drop if and when they get an even harder mission then the last one. :evil:

Finally He was the sum of his experience sure he has that feeling to survive when he was a kid but now he is back to that jack ass that he was before he entered Gantz missions. That as we saw when he thought it was funny that people died and that Tokyo got ripped up when he saw it reported on TV and was totally indifferent to it.

Conclusion in sort he ran away from his memories because he didn’t want to feel the weight of them (coward no other word exist for him). Next now that Gantz has chosen not to hide his presents anymore he might see himself fighting on TV but most definitely the VADs will track him down so it was like committing suicide. Not only that but people not involved with Gantz are killing indiscriminately all the time he had a better survival rate within Gantz. So he must want to die is the only conclusion left to me very sad and I’m so disappointed in this outcome.:twisted:

P.S.

Yes I think the time limit and the hiding of his people was to mask his present mostly from the VADs. Once they started showing themselves and remarked about Gantz the strongest of Aliens being on the move he no longer needed to do these things. Also I believe he really wanted the VAD he sent them out to kill dead and he wouldn’t have died because the timer would have run out if he chose to keep it going. I’m not sure want Gantz motive are but he is making the human race defend itself from invasion but he seems to have fun doing it. Who knows he may be the biggest threat to the world and just want the others out of his way.

I agree the Kurono made a selfish decision, and took the easy way out. But aside from having his memory eraised, and all the progress he has made in becoming a good person vanish, i dont think he is any worse off. We have seen Kurono not only compleat, but recieve the highest score, in missions ware he did not have that suit. So i'm pretty sure he can handel himself outside of the missions. I mean think about worse case scenario Kurono and Tae die. But if that happens you know that they are just gonna end up in that apartment with Gantz in it.

everything you just wrote is your personal point of view on a character in a manga, and it would of been fine in any other discussion thread about the recent chapters.

it was not cowardice...it was what he wanted to achieve from the beginning, by leaving gantz he prevents people close to him from getting hurt...for instance tae. He wanted his life back obviously, and he was also ushered on by the other gantzers to go and lead a normal life.

'harder'...think not and with the team they have formed together now, i doubt they will have many problems.

now this leads onto the problem with the vampires, from what we have seen they are not aliens, they are modified humans, also there is nothing to say that they have been hunted before by gantzers, so although they said that if they survive the oni mission they will fight, its not to say that gantz will choose them as targets.

now you can say that "izumi fought with the vamps before and they want him captured etc etc"....but the fact is, you dont kno what happened before, and even izumi cannot remember.

How can he protect anyone if he can’t even remember who he wants to protect from what I read he didn’t have any real friends at the beginning didn’t even really try. Like I said before they kill indiscriminately it is likely that Tae will die if she comes into contact with the fighting and he no longer there to help her or even remember that he would want to help her.

What the hell are you talking about I said he thought about them so what??? So you believe he thought nothing of them the why the hell did he think of them at all please answer that for me? That’s all I care to say on that subject don’t care if she alive in another form like I said you’re the sum of you experiences the point they diverge they became different people.

It’s questionable if he wanted to get back with Tae or not. Yes he did want to revive her so he accomplished that through I might add through his friends who he abandoned. There are many forms of weakness just because you’re the strongest fighter doesn’t mean much without a strong will to back it up. The weakness is in not persavering and trying to save as many live as he could and to protect his friends which I might add some gave up their own freedom for him.

He was called strong in Gantz listing not the strongest read more creafully (Its possible we read different translation though). Incase it is this I said one of the VADs called Gantz the strongest Alien.

Then you haven’t been reading the manga they barely survived the last mission it only through him that they survived at all. I find it very likely if the next mission is just a little harder that at least some of them if not most are going to die.

As for what happened before the story started I couldn’t care less who cares if Izumi fought with them before it has no bearing.

For god sake man he already chose one as a target so what are you basing this hope on? Whether or not he does is not even relevant because they keep showing up to where Gantz send them (Truthfully if this is a game for Gantz do you think he is going to put up with someone interfering in is game). Seems to me it’s damn likely that they will be the target and soon.

I’ve read to 222 it was all about new leader and whats his name going back to his brother what does it have to do with Kurono? If you have a line on the 223 tell me and I will read it. I am basing my observation about this on chapter 221 so I’ll revise if there is something new with Kurono after 222.

It has everything to do with cowardice but if I’m wrong then I have to reevaluate what I think cowardice is because it is my definition of cowardice.

Ok I read the translation of 223 and it give me some hope but it doesn’t change my view at least not yet. Except for him crying over that painting he is acting just like his old self like he doesn’t give a sit.

well him having friends or not is irrelevant, but what he made in gantz changed that.
and by staying in gantz it puts tae in more danger...listen if the vampires can only track the gantzers in gantz mode they are pretty much safe in the real world.... and tho this infomation is not 100% im sure its true down to the fact that they can see where gantzers are when playing, but when they are walking around normally the same dont seem so...like when izumi kurono and co were walking around and the vamps spotted them...if they were really looking for him they would just track him normally...so it seems that they are ok in the real world...for now anyway.

i know this...but in kuronos case this statement is incorrect...it should be the oppisite way around...kurono is not physically strong...its his will to achieve what he wants that drives him.

oh ive been reading the manga...but you havnt been reading what im saying... i agree, without kurono they would of lost...and i never said otherwise.

i was basically saying that there is no reason as to why gantz would attack the vampires. and there is no evidence that state that the next mission will be harder, as hard or a little less harder...so i dont know how you can say this.

well if this is your main point i suggest you explain it more clearly...why exactly is kurono a coward...he wasnt afraid to be in gantz....he wasnt afraid to fight dinosaurs and demons....and ever since the shinjuku massacre he has never ran away from anything. so i dont see how he is a coward

Kuronos sole goal was to turn back time and be free. Although in the process of staying in gantz he gained a marvelous personality, he was bound to lose it one way or another since theres no option of leaving gantz without losing memory. In the end if he stayed to help everyone, after he left everyone would've forgoten each other anyway and Kurons detication would be also lost since he wouldn't recall any of it. However after leavin Gantz he gained a big advatnage of having a big chance of being with Tae (cpt 223), and also meeting others because of his curiosity via his cell phone. Personally I think later on he will somehow regain his memories and return to the awesome person that he had become in the Gantz.

Deusgear that is an interesting way to look at it. It’s more uplifting anyway if that really is the reason he did it. Still even in that there are still flaws in a plan like that. True enough but I will just say that suit aren’t the only equipment that Gantz supplied in both those times he use a gun or rifle and in the second one he used that motorcycle thingy. He also new how to use those weapons and as we have seen guns aren’t very effective. So he will be at an even more extreme disadvantage if he ever has to face them again.
