It looks like he chose freedom but he better change his mind or be screwed over. I mean how can you get rid of or replace the main character? It's like say Ichigo in Bleach decides hey I don't want to do this anymore bye. Or in any other anime/manga. It's like he wants his manga to commit suicide.

Even if he comes back eventually or this is all something to mess with our heads till the next chapter and he stays. Well I pray the 2nd is the case and Gantz goes on the way it has been.

kurono is the main character. with a bomb in his head or not. the story will probably follow his normal life i.e.= being screwed over left and right.but the one thing in kurono's life that is set in stone is drama, bad luck and conflict.
