if you guys noticed the first time Gantz made a listing (in one of the earlier chapters), we couldn't spot any inhuman looking picture.

so it's a good guess that it's only humans. perhaps including casualties give or take (Tae)

It might make sense if the aliens that get "sent" are revivable in some sense (perhaps re-useable by gantz for future missions).

For what? I think it`s impossible. They aren`t presented in GANTZ`s database. Lucky. Coz I think someone in GANTZ thought of that ( Izumi, for example )
