Thread: is gantz immortal?

why didn't anyone try to kill gantz. well, from what i remembered, kurono only threatened gantz. also, even other gantz players never tried to shoot gantz. were they just paranoid thinking that it was some kind of joke? if they were, wouldn't they normally think that even if they try to shoot gantz those weapons were just mere toys? why...? but if gantz would die, would there be another gantz that would take his place? i wonder....

So far we don't really know that much about Gantz, only that somehow he "faxed" these people that should have been dead to his room, and that he sends them on missions to defeat these otherwise invisible aliens. It's anyones guess what would happen if he were shot, but from the looks of the situation (being photocopied, "sent", and what have you,) I'd say there's some way to get around his own destruction. Most of the people that are sent into the apartment either have no idea Gantz is in that ball, or are too busy trying to figure out what had just happened to them. Notice that no one has anything against Gantz to begin with and just end up dying in the missions, and Kurono was the only one who felt the need to threaten him, due to all the losses he suffered. Personally I think Gantz is just a form of AI with a weirdo fetus guy in a ball for effect.

Here are a few possible things that may happen if you shoot Gantz:

- Nothing.
- He dies.
- The shooter dies/E55PL0DES.
- The reader dies.

I reckon a character will come up that will blow Gantz's brains out.. that is if he has any. We'll see what happens then fo' shizzle.

A little off topic, what I'm wondering who figured out that turning your finger in Gantz's ear will get a response out of him.

i'd like to think that gantz would die someday, eventually...

I'd like to know what his purpose is before they kill him off. Nothing will get solved unless that is revealed.

dunno if anyone tried this in manga or anime, they should bring the whole "black ball" out of the room if the guy don't get teleported like izumi or kei, i believe the suit is strong enough to roll or lift the ball...

then let that sicko fight the alien by it self, even better if the aliens notice the presence of gantz and they fight each other...

gants could prolly tottaly kick assit seams he has the same ability as that gun that teleports people and the possibility of immortality

But is gantz really the man inside the ball? or does he use the man inside the ball as a sort of organic computer, and he himself is somewhere else merely networked watching over them? I think it's more likely he's not in the ball then he's immortal.
