Thread: A theory involving Izumi, and the motorcycle. . .

I searched a few different key words, and didn't find anything similar to this, so I thought it may warrent a new topic. . .

Anyways, I was talking with my cousin about GANTZ the other day, speculating about the new weapon etc. when I realized something. Doesn't it seem strange that no one notices the motorcycle until Izumi is back in GANTZ? Is it possible that he requested a special weapon on his first time in GANTZ, and it happened to be the bike? Obviously, he will get something different this time, but it does seem very strange to me that no one EVER notices the room or the bike until Izumi gets there. For that matter, it seems like nishi never knew about it either. . .which would be logical if it only exhisted when Izumi was playing GANTZ. Obviously I can only speculate that, but it seems like he would have used it if he knew about it.

This is actually a vey interesting theory. In fact, it makes a lot of sense since as it is, we can only speculate about the ultimate weapons.

If not Izumi's, perhaps that cycle was an ultimate weapon of some other Gantzer that got a hundred points. Maybe one of Izumi's team mates from before? It'd make sense for the cycle to be an Ultimate weapon since there seems to be only one cycle while there's pretty much enough of everything else for everybody.

the only thing that bugs me is . . . if your going to give the cycle as an ultimate weapon, izumi seems like a humorous choice. .he isn't much of a team player, and the cycle is made for teamwork. . then again. . gantz has a sense of humor sometimes. .

the door only opens after gantz have giving the orders so no one check cause when first fax to the room they check all the doors and they are close so they fought (as in think) that its allways close

That's true. Since they couldn't open any doors when they first arrive, and the door to the cycle/sword room is only open once Gantz opens, it's highly likely that they just didn't bother to check, especially since Gantz shoots 'em off pretty fast once they get their info.

its not like nobody went in that room before, remember thats were Sadako was always hiding.

well the gantz bike isn't that uber of a weopon since they only have a 1 km2 area to travel so jumping or super run would work the same. it could be something he found and 'save' on his date or something like the Gantz saber

the fact that no one ever happened to go into that room before izumi arives tends to hint at it being locked whenever people tried before. . if on average about 8 people are in gantz every time, and they had done 4 missions thats 32 chances for someone to wonder whats behind the door. . just seems kind of strange no one notices the bike before then.

Who cares how many people enter the room in how many missions, at the beginning of the Gantz series we start with a room full of noobs and one veteran, Nishi.

No one the whole time we read through the series tries opening any door other than the bathroom after the mission is stated.

Side note: Writters usually don't think that far ahead anyways in an ongoing project; they develop arcs based on a specific story structure involving key static elements. Things get changed on the way and that's wgy people notice issues with continuity. Novels are different.

Nishi is a vet but it's obvious he isn't that clever. I mean don't you remember how he idiotically tried over and over again to change frequencies to fight the Kantaro alien even after it was obvious he could be detected.

You're reading to far into it unnessessarily after having not payed enough attention to small details within the series.

Besides Izumi would not have gotten an ultimate weapon after receiving 100 and then choose freedom on another choice session. It's not in his obviously competetive personality.

My guess is that the door had been unlocked ever since the beginning. My other guess is that in terms of how random and unpredictable gantz is, i think that the unlocking of the door is up to gantz's mind, he sometimes unlocks the door but sometimes leave it lock, like in a very hard mission like the dinosaur mission where the motorcycle would be needed will be unlocked.

And also Nishi never was detected by the alien, he was only hit by the alien's attack because the alien shot in the direction of where nishi was shooting from.

I also think that Izumi is some kind of famous legend from that past along with some of his comrades (the ones in his flashback and the picture shown from the vampire session of izumi and the other guy), they should be pretty famous if they are viewed by the vampires and also warn themselves about izumi. Izumi must have killed a lot of strong aliens back then and gaining the powerful weapon.
