    Default Sakurai's Ressurection

Does anyone else feel that Sakurai's Ressurection is kind of... weak? I mean, it's not like I dislike him as a character, but... It really cheapens his death scene. I thought that scene was really good, because it was so... real. Not that Gantz series as a whole is realistic, but the fact that people die is. Here's this guy who's life is kinda coming together after almost killing himself, and then he dies. It's like something that would happen in real life, and it's what I like about Gantz. The heroes don't always come out on top (except for Kurono, but you need at least one constant or the series would fall apart). Sometimes they die, because they're doing dangerous stuff. And, at least before now, when they die, they're gone. That's it.

I'm kind of worried that the sense of risk that is there whenever they have a mission will decrease, because they can just revive each other all the time; especially if missions start having more and more points awarded.
I told him once or twice; to stop playin' cards, and shootin' dice.... he's in the jailhouse now

I agree. I turned to gantz, not for the style, but rather for its solution to dragonball syndrome (IE Characters become so uber that they waste 5 chapters/episodes "warming up".
Happens to all action series (just look at naruto now...). Characters just become too powerful, and it gets repetitive. In the event popular (read: still marketable) Characters are killed are killed of, the Mangaka brings them back in some halfbaked manner...With gantz, after the first group died except for kuruno, katou, and kishimoto, I was like "awesome, guess now we get new characters!" Of course after the Budah mission it was depressing, after all the reader has to invest at least Some emotional attachment in the characters, but now that they can just revive themselves, it feels cheaper. This is one of the reasons I liked the anime ending, in that, death is final. (plus the whole concept of a "third chance" seems kinda wimpy...)

But who knows... maybe next mission will be kill Tae alien (Again!), Katou alien, and sakurai alien.

    Katou Alien
Kurono, Reika, Kaze, Suzuki, Sakata, Sakurai, Takeshi, and Katou vs. Izumi, Hoi Hoi, and Inaba

Takeshi would probably end up playing with Hoi Hoi

Izumi would get his ass kicked against 7 gantzers

and Inaba would turn tail and run at the first signs of danger.

    Default Cheapen?

It may get rid us of the draw of death in the series but that isnt a bad thing, they've already established a high kill rate

if the missions kept going on like this people die, new one come in and die also, swish and repeat, kidding, then you'd start getting bored with the format. Sakurai's death may have seemed weakened because everyone was happy to have him back.

Think on this, Kato is the type of guy who tries to take the lead. that kind of attitude isnt going to change just cuz he's been gone awhile. thus they add conflict and OMG drama? no can't have that in an action anime. It adds other elements is all im trying to say

besides, at least with all this reviving it means they can finally kill off Kurono for a while and have Kato & the others as main characters until they revive him again here's hoping!

I could see them doing a part 2 where, with kishimoto and katou both revived, Kurono is convinced by his friends to choose freedom, and goes off to live happily with Tae. Then the focus of the story shifts to katou, and him trying to coexist with Izumi & the others.

Unlikely. I give it 1 volume for more Vampire introductions, 1 volume for a filler gantz mission so Izumi (and anyone else who picks #2) can show off the new weapon, and katou has a chance to reacclimate to gantz (who knows what being dead for a few months can do to you....), 1 volume for the start of the vampire mission, basically killing "lesser vampires" (which is how all gantz missions start) and then 2 more volumes switching back and forth every chapter or so between kurono trying to fight his brother (or trying not fight)and everybody else fighting boss vampires.

remember, Gantz is a franchise, so they stretch things out. I doubt even the vampire battle will end it, though it might mean the (temporary) death of Kurono.

I think when they revive, those who killed in Gantz will go back to Gantz and fight to earn 100 points. Thsoe who die like Tae, they would probably revive like a normal human being... but will there be memories?

well Gantz seems to be open to pubilc eyes now so she may be just like the other she remembers her death.

Well i'm not that piss about the whole 'extra life/rez' thing after all Gantz is bascily a game and games have restart buttons and extra lifes wend you score the points.
