Eeeer, sorry if someone already made the same theory :? ...
In my opinion, Gantz is a gouvernment top-secret project. Why would it be the gouvernment ? Well, when I think about it, someone must pay about the electicity bill, the appartment rent, of the Gantz room. Also, the fact that there's no investigations on the Shinjuuku case, Kurono's school case and the Dinosaur mission case although mass murders or policemen murders occured makes me think that the gouvernement shutted up the japanese police.
But nothing new here. There are people that already believe in the gouvernement conspiracy case. What's new, though, is that I think that the Gantzers are not the real research but that the aliens are. I mean, c'mon, what do we really know about the aliens ? Are they really aliens ? They all seem peaceful, until the Gantzers arrive. What I do think, is that the gouvernment do experiences on human people. Aliens are humanoids and talk Japanese (or try)...Which could be due to the fact that they were humans which were genetically altered by... nanomachines, which leads us to the vamps (read chapter 163) that could be escaped projects of the gouvernement.
What does the gouvernement want ? Dunno, maybe create a superior race of humans, that will have superhuman strenght, speed, reflexes... like the vamps. Still on the vamps, if they were to have succesfully escaped, that would explain why they know about the gantzers, their weapons, and the other aliens...
And what about the sending gun ? Why would Gantz need that, if it wasn't to study the aliens where they were sent... (In my opinion a gouvernment lab)
Again, how would the Tanaka aliens were able to create the suits in which they were ? C'mon, they're birdmans ! No hands, no thumbs ! You see what's my point, someone must have had helped them...
And the Gantzers ? Well, they're like, a cleaning team. Y'know, starting the mission when the experience goes bad,or when the experience starts to get uncontrolable, the gantzers are send on the field to finish it off.
About how the gantzers are choosed, though, I'm not sure...Maybe - that's a wild guess- at birth, scientists chek out your DNA and see if you have the appropriate genes to survive, you know, like no genetical decease or stuff like that... Then they implant the little device every Gantzer have (mini bomb that acts also as a locating device) in their heads. When a mission occurs, Gantz take all the people with the device in the head that died at the same moment, which would be why Kurono and Katou appeared both in the room. When there's no mission, people with the device just die normally. And also, that would explain why Gantz chooses so randomly people, regardless of their age(Y'know, a kid, a grandma, an oldman,... weak people !) : It's just the people that died at the moment of the beginnig of the mission. But, frankly I doubt that, cuz' during the dinosaur mission, there were 4 US guys...
