How long before I'm impressed with the manga?

I just started reading Gantz (on Volume 4) and I have yet to actually care about what is happening. I find myself somewhat bored of the manga.

Oh, it gets better along the way, as far as action goes. Keep with it, it can't hurt.

I've told a lot of friends about Gantz, but it comes out terrible. "There's talking dinosaurs that shoot fireballs and then a motorcycle that only has one wheel with aliens and there's birdmen in singing robots with..."

Yeah...

The genre is mature shounen, which is quite the contradiction. It's like Berserk, except without a purpose. However, Berserk didn't have a purpose for a while...

Last night I was trying to tell my frien whats about and it came some thing like this:

when they die they go to an apartmen with a blackball in the center

and he ask me if it was some gay hentai

Gantz its one of does great thing that you cant tell people they need to see it for there self
