Mission 4 character backgrounds

So, in order that people may get more interested in the ongoing Mission 4, I decided to start this thread.

Basically write here for anyone posting in Mission 4 about your character's background. By this I mean more than the paragraph in the sign-up, more like a character time-line or I kinda auto-biography detailing important events in their past.

I come up with this idea as for my own character there are many things I want to put in flashbacks but cant crowbar into the RP.

While I'm finishing up a little on Shin's earlier teen years for this thread (while his mother was still around), hopefully some of you can post a little about your characters that you possibly couldnt get in via flashback to the main RP.

So get writing

I just moved house and have no internet in the new place yet, so I'm only online at work, but I would personally love to write the last, say, five or six hours before Keiko got killed, so I may do that and post it here when I get the chance.

Will soon be posting about Shin a year before he arrived into the room; included will be his coming of age ceremony (and why it is important... I havent had time to write about it in the rp so I will here), the gf from his Mission 4 flashbacks and leaving Uni and his father returning into his life and some other stuff.

I wanted to write a bit about the few months of the current rp year before he ended up in the Gantz room but since the only thing of interest was him getting sick and the Sakura viewing flashback (of which I've already written in the rp), I've decided to go with 200X -1 instead.

200X-1, Shin Gaiden timeline

Note some dates are slightly different from those noted in the Mission 3 rpg as I've added more to the character and have decided things fit better this way. This will be the canon dates for any future flashbacks or past references. Also there are some characters here (mostly Emi's friends) that could be used as npcs in any bridging arc between Mission 4 and 5.

December (4 months before Mission 3)
Shin returns from drifting across Tokyo for Ryuichi's 22nd b-day. Shin spends Christmas Eve out in Shinjuku with Ryuichi and Emi.

September (7 months before Mission 3)
Shin leaves his girlfriend (mentioned in Mission 4). Tsukimi festival marks the 1 year anniversary of Shin's mother passing. Shin leaves home to drift across Tokyo for the next few months.

August (8 months before Mission 3)
Shin meets his future gf. Obon festival falls on Emi's 17th, making Shin turn aloof for some time. He turns 21 at the end of the month.

c. June to July (9-10 months before Mission 3)
Emi and her friend Kei-chan leave on holiday. Kei-chan who had a crush on Shin drops it on discovering Emi likes Shin. Shin is confused by Kei-chan becoming aloof on her return. Shin's father, having spent all the money left to him by Shin's mother, forces his return to the Shima family home, much to Shin's dismay.

May (11 months before Mission 3)
Ryuichi and Shin's university leaving ball. Ryuichi and Shin take Kei-chan and Emi respectively.

April (12 months before Mission 3)
Shin, having finished with long-term gf Saeko, decides he and Ryuichi should take Emi and her friend Kei-chan to their leaving do. They ask at the Sakura viewing and both girls agree.

March (13 months before Mission 3)
White day. Saeko dumps Shin after recieving his chocolate because "he finally looks happy". Ironically Shin falls into despair over the next fortnight, as he realises Saeko only pitied him, until Ryuichi pulls him out of it.

February (14 months before Mission 3)
Shin gets the first valentine chocolates of his life from Saeko.

January (15 months before Mission 3)
Shin's coming of age day, a year after Ryuichi's. With neither parent supporting him, both his grandmother's come instead. At the end of the month, Shin and Saeko officially get together.

It seems Shin is quite timid with girls, no wonder he blushed so much around Keiko when she was naked!

I'm reposting the NPC FAQs here since they are also characters in the game and are worth reading.

Q: who are the people who got to Isigi, are they MIBs or Vamps?
A: They are the same people who killed Hori (the male nurse); the Interpol agents (it's unknown if they're real agents or not). These agents seem to be following the orders of a man only known as Heindric.

Q: There are 4 people in the Hiroshima gantz team and they sound pretty experienced. Besides Yamamoto have they all got 100 points or more?
A: The 4 people; Yamamoto, Kimi, 'Papa' and Chow are the surviving members of the Hiroshima group from an external attack by the vampire clan in their city. To be able to survive a full scale attack, they have to be atleast veterans in what they do. Yamamoto has gotten more than 200 points, 'Papa' has more than 100, Chow has 200 plus points. Kimi, who is the youngest, is the the longest surviving member of the Hiroshima team. She has completed gantz 6 times which is why she has the access of a power suit.
Update: It has been revealed that both Papa and Chow were killed in the assault on the Club Dark Water. (see below)

Q: Who are Junji and Ito?
A: They're both Vampires in charge of the Tokyo vampire clan. Nothing has been revealed about Junji except that he is the leader of the vamps and has lots of connections. Ito is Junji's loyal right hand man. Thought Ito has revealed himself to the gantzers, specifically Tomoe Shimada, nothing else is known about him and is said to have special powers (GM: What power he posesses hasn't been revealed but i'm giving this as a hint) Trivia: The name Junji Ito belongs to horror manga writer.

Q: What does all that German text say in the first part of the off mission thread?
A: That text is actually a phone conversation between the man known as Heindric and the vampire Junji. Heindric appears to be some sort of mercenary for hire and is well aware of what goes on around the world.

Since most online translator are doing crap translations, here it is in english:

Q: What really happened in club Dark Water?
A: While initial reports from the vamps are at most sketchy, the screnario of the assualt happens like this: A team of vamps who were on guard after the appearance of Tomoe were ambushed by the Hunters. Security tapes show that there were 3 assailants and 1 ape like robot who disposed of the group very quickly. This prompts the vamps in the building be prepared for the assualt, weapons ready. Unfortunately they were blinded by a smokescreen.

The attackers continued their assault in the club taking out as many as 15 vamps before they could organize themselves. When the smoke screen finally dies off, the vamps regroup again to attack but is stopped by the ape like robot (whom appears to move faster and hit stronger than the normal hunters). The appearance of this new hunter prompts Junji to enter the fray with Ito.

Junji instructs Ito to back him up by taking on the normal hunters together with the remaining hunters. Ito uses his (?) powers on them. The hunters are thrown back (literally) by the vamps counter attack only the ape like robot is uneffected and continues to fight on. Eventually one of them succumbs to the attack. A hunter sensing that their new found morale boost might be dangerous goes in to take on the vamp leader, Junji. Junji reacts fast (very fast) and stabs the hunter in the eye instantly killing the man.

Junji then sets his eyes on the robot and engages it in melee combat. Both sides seemed evenly matched or so everyone thought when Junji manages to slice an arm of the ape like robot. The robot falls quick but before Junji can take the finishing move. The last hunter interrupts using a AOE weapon which weakens the clubs foundation and eventually causes the front half of the club to collapse. As the club falls apart, the hunters use this to escape by releasing another smokescreen.

End body count: 2 hunters dead, 30-40 vamp dead.

Q: Who are Inspector Hosuke and Assistant Inspector Hoici?
A: Both are members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Force. They were both assigned to apprehend Dr. Wakahisa who tried to escape a psychiatric ward he was detained for murder. While attempting to capture the doctor at the facility, the tactical team botched their assault which ended in an explosion that not only destroyed the ward but killing the murderer too (refer to Wakahisa, "Dr. Akuma" Dr. Yoshi character sheet for more details). Having not found proof of the doctor's death, Inspector Hosuke and Assistant Inspector Hoici both suspect that the serial killer may have somehow escape the explosion, presumably still at large. Due to the collateral damage done to the ward, the Inspector was forced to close the case which prompted the inspector and his assistant to work on it in quietly. Inspector Hosuke is aged 48 while Hoici is 31.

I'm not sure if Shin is timid around girls, though he's a little shocked (in the good way) of how forward Keiko is, he's a little out of touch from the rest of humanity, which would be why he can be so analytical about what people think of him and unsure (thats a better word) around the ladies. I couldnt really get it into the rp so far, but Saeko's compensated dating really messed Shin up, he wonders if there is anyone out there who likes him since the one person who was always there for him is gone.

Unsure abround the ladies? WHat about his little one night stand with the trollop of his dad and all the Keiko action? If that is him being unsure, I hope he doesn't get more confidence in the future *gg*

Heh, well Keiko is easy to explain; Shin's fronting right now, like absence pointed out he is still blushing and stuttering more than Hugh Grant when it seems like she is reciprocating his admittedly immature ways of getting her attention.

As for Sa-chan, thats harder to word except when that happened I guess a little sliver of the darker part of his personality got Sa-chan. He also blatently used the sympathy card to bed her which goes to show Shin calculated that as he has little confidence in seducing her any other way. Of course Shin had little feelings for Sa-chan, while he really does like Keiko alot, note the different ways he talked to both girls so far, even Emi who he's known for years, was more like a confident way of how hes talking to Keiko, as he knows Emi is his friend (though ironically the two like each other and probably they know this, but neither has admitted their feelings yet).
