Gantz Live Action Films confirmed!

Anime films can go any way, really. Could be great, could be awful.
Will be very toned down from the manga though, I'd imagine. I wouldn't expect the amount of violence like you'd find in other Japanese gore movies like 'Machine Girl' and such in an anime adaptation. And definitely not as much nudity! hehe

You CAN NOT do Gantz without a Transformers-like budget.
Say anything else and you are lying. And stupid. And a fag.

And you CAN NOT do the needed splatter, gore and sex in a movie for cinema without having to cut it, thus ruining the movie itself.

I think District 9 proved that you don't need a huge budget to make a great sci fi movie.

neruke, the first 2 missions don't even require a huge budget to be honest.

Rather than being better, I hope they are at least as good.

I don't feel too good about this. I'd prefer they just re make the anime and do it right.

this will probably be delayed and postponed and put on hold and then canceled then revived and go the whole cycle over and over like all those manga/anime that was planned to put into live action films. bah.

Well seeing as Director, Cast and a budget is confirmed, and apparently filming is starting already (so pre-production is already complete so a script has to exist) I'd say this will be out, even if it is delayed.

Also I read somewhere the films have a real fat budget, not summer block-buster fat, but still its a biggy, which is funny for a manga of this type but apparently there is a huge hype in Japan about it.

Also, for those thinking it will be all censored, expect as much what was shown in the dvd anime releases as whatever made it in there is sure to end up in the live-action films. I'd think making Kurono and Kato college students would also let them get away with half the stuff in there, compare what a 16 year old and a 20 year old can be shown doing on screen.

I cant say if the films will be any good, but the actors are quality, the director has some good experience so it all rests on what the scripts are like at the end of the day.

Yeah, the standard of Japanese live action adaptations has increased recently. Death note and 20th century boys from the top of my head.

I do believe japanese moviemaker make a lot better manga adoption movie than hollywood ever did, budget-wise aside ^^ ( ichi the killer will tell you guys that I'm rite bout this :P )

its all depend how they will rated the movie, if is only PG13 then it will suck ass to be honest

yes it will take a good budget number, but not necessarily a HUMONGOUS ones

and talkin bout censor, well we aint talkin bout hollywood here dude, so there still chance that you'll got all that splatter gore etc ( well I wouldnt count to much of sex, still hoping though )

so yes, you MIGHT do a gantz movie ( whether it will be succed or flop its all depend on the storyline, casting, and yes, a good budget numbe )

not really hoping they turned gantz to another handycam-movie-drama ala cloverfiled, but I get your point there ^^

not really goin to hold my breath here but it does sound like a promise there mate ^^
