As a fan of horror movies, dude you are completely wrong about that being related to people's obsession with death. We know what we are seeing is fake, we are trying to either get scared or having fun guessing how will the stupid teenagers defeat/kill the bastardous killer/supernatural thing. The situation changes completely when you are offered to see someone die in real life or get killed in front of your eyes. For instance, I still haven't seen the video of that girl in Iran who was shot and died a couple of minutes later.

Of course there are people who would be all "OMG, HE'S GOING TO DIE, LET'S WATCH IT", but you can't say everyone is like that. or haven't you ever heard of people risking their own lives to save complete strangers?

Well I think hes more identifiable to use then we would want to admit to ourselves.

The selfishness, aggression, complete lack of remorse, or mean spiritedness you can find in most people he just pours off of him.

I don't think he was always like this I think its mostly Gantz's fault that hes so messed up.

I know a lot of people don't like him but hes one of my favorites.

I find his madness entertaining.

Well I don't personally see anything wrong with wanting to get a better understanding of Nishi, as well as any other character. A lot of them are interesting, and by understanding them, it improves the overall effect of the story.

Even if not everyone who loves to watch people die in a horror movie wants to watch footage of someone actually being killed, that doesn't change the fact that there is a huge demand for images of true death. Of course people are going to deny that "oh no, that's not me..." But it must be somebody, right? Never underestimate the true depravity of human beings.

You realize that is the exception to the rule.

In the early series when Nishi was the only one who wasn't whining and screaming "Is it really okay to kill to defend myself." Who did you think was right? Those dumbass, fatass biker idiots? Pussy boy, Kurono? I don't think so...

^ Just because Nishi survived by doing that, doesnt make it "right".

Also, I think those who stay and watch, for example, someone imminently about to get run over by a train, to see that happen are truly an exception like those who jump in to save them.

Most people would panic and not know what to do. Sure its presented differently in Gantz, but that was to make the Anvil-like Aesop for Nishi by volume 2.

I'm not saying there arent people like that out there, think about driving past a car crash and I deny most people to not think if they look hard enough they may spot someone hurt/dead.

That doesnt make it right though and thats completely different from, using the above example, parking up and watching the crash victim croak for personal gratification. Thats why Kurono says he is different to Nishi, because Nishi's point is it natural to do just that (and that he does things like that himself), when to be perfectly honest, few people are that sadistic.

Its a crapsack world, but theres a difference between "jee, look at that!" to outright sadism.
