Wow ... Gantz ending? ...Definitely sad to see it go, i remember the first time I ever watched Gantz, the first time I read the manga, Gantz is pretty damn awesome. Though the prequel novel helps (: But damn ... waiting for the English translation will seem like forever, and then trying to find it in a shop or something...

Even though New York gets WIPED OFF the map... How does that mean America is gone?

Maybe I didn't read it closely enough... But it just sounds to me like the final third of the story is just starting, and I think we still have a long way to go. I think the Catastrophe could go on for quite a while.

I also don't really see evidence that the Gantz ship had anything to do with a Gantz mission. It could have simply been aliens showing off their superior firepower by taking out the world's premier military super power (i.e. USA). We already saw the Japanese Defense Force fight with aliens already.

I'm kind of curious as to whether or not the insane number of gantz balls that were being made in the factory are going to catch some of those souls.... It always seemed kind of odd to me that the mission with the Tokyo ball simply ended while thousands of other balls were still being produced.

Destroying New York is a bit disappointing, the usual target (yawn...) If they will show the Liberty statue decapitated I'll yell... Fighting in the south would be a little different, a couple of friends of mine there have a full armoury of assault rifles (and also grenades...) at home...

In any case it's useless to jump at conclusions, everyone was 90% wrong in predictments. So this is mine (...): The game is over but there are still gantzers around with suits and guns, we don't know how many are and what weapons are still around. Sure the scenario is enlarging and getting interesting... What i would do in the same situation ? As member of the gantz team I would call the other ones and met at the gantz room, ok, the man is no more in the ball but I would check if the ball is still working and maybe try to gain control of it in order to acquire advanced weapons...

Wait... 10/1 ??? WTF ? I could be dead by myself by that date... ARGH!!! DAMN YOU OKU !! AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!

Well, it doesn't say that there is going to be a "third phase", it seems Oku is just taking a break.

^He said third of the story, not phase. I feel that Catastrophe has the potential to be at least 5 volumes.

There's enough potential left for it at least.

Gantz ending in the next 3 months was really disappointing if the ending wouldn't have a giant a ha effect.
