I never liked the idea that using the suit drains it's energy. Because when you're at the end of a hunt, where your suit energy might already be low, you'll have to face the boss(es) usually. That's when a working suit is crucial. But now you'd have to make the choice to either not use it and conserve your defensive power, or use it and deplete it even further.
You probably wouldn't expect me saying this, since I play an enemy. But being weaker than the onion alien dad, I don't think it's gonna make much difference for us vamps. And the npc aliens can simply be modified to still provide a challenge.
Because a balance is fine and all, but it's not easy to achieve. Besides I never found it delayed things much. In most cases it happens in an attack, where the gm comes in to write what happens anyway. In those cases it's just part of his update process. And in the other cases...well it's not like there isn't a timewindow for it at our speed.
I like the no off-mission training though. Because that way the difference between gantzers and vamps won't increase that fast. Because a gantzer not only get's exp for what he does, he also get's better weapons through the gantz points (while vamps only get exp). No reason to also add off-mission training.
