After popping out the window and climbing out, the hot air escaping the radiator inundated Tetsuo. He could feel the slight pain, but it hardly mattered. Hot air wouldn't burn his eyebrows and hair, and the scalded skin would heal fast. It was a small price to pay if it meant stopping the guard in time, in case he was still around.

Steres followed when more gunfire could be heard. But it wasn't coming directly from their location, so they pressed on. Steres voiced his concern, but finding the guard pinned down stopped Tetsuo from responding. This man wouldn't go anywhere and was hardly a threat now. The command post drew their attention with more gunfire. Just what had happened there? Tetsuo couldn't believe that the violence of the automatic weapons had not supressed the crowd yet. Or the soldiers had totally lost it and were on a killing spree. Part of him wanted to go over there and check it out, but he knew it was a mistake.
They had to make use of this confusion to get in the zone. But what about the soldier. He was obviously hurt and Tetsuo had wanted to spare his life.
"I was hoping the car would get us a bit further, but it doesn't matter. We have to cover some ground." he said to Steres. "We can always get a new one inside. Moving through the alleys for a bit might not be a bad thing."

Before he was gonna start jogging away from the carnage, he quickly ran to the soldier. First he'd look for the man's rifle and then check if he could get some more ammunition off him. If Tetsuo came across the mans walkie, he'd send out a distress call, naming the street corner, before moving away. Whether or not it was set to the right channel/frequency would be up to fate. Tetsuo wouldn't waste time doing it more than once.

The steam blocked his view considerably, forcing Steres to focus on his hearing. He hadn't expected to hear gunshots so quickly however, forcing him to cry out in surprise in a rather uncharacteristically rough manner. Steres figured he was still shaken a bit from his previous anxiousness and he was still running on adrenaline.

Following up on Tetsuo-san, he along with Tetsuo-san noticed the soldier pinned on the ground by the fence and the car. Steres couldn't immediately tell whether the soldier was unconscious, conscious, or dead but he could at the very least expect him to have some serious injuries if he was still alive. He heard Tetsuo-san and agreed, but before Steres knew it Tetsuo-san had run towards the soldier, searching his body for weapons and ammunition Steres expected.

Seeing the command post, Steres figured the shots were coming from that direction and he began to wonder what exactly was going on. He had thought that the soldiers were just particularly ruthless but something seemed off by just the sheer amount of shots that were being fired. Before he could think it over further, Steres shook his head and moved towards Tetsuo-san and the soldier, gun at the ready.

Both Tetsou and Steres rush towards the downed soldier ignoring the fire fight further up the street. Their main concern was towards the soldier trapped under the fence, whom they were cautious of. Up close, from what they can see the soldier will probably not be much of a concern to them. From the way his body is lying, they assume that he has major injury to his spine one which may leave him crippled. Tetsou moves in immediately to secure the soldiers weapon and his walkie talkie, however he finds that the weapon is trapped under the fence where reaching it with his hands would be impossible unless he finds a way to cut through the chain linked fence.

With his sharp sense of hearing, Steres can hear the crackling of the soldier's walkie going on and off. It's either not tuned properly or damaged. He isn't able to make out much but there seems to be a distress call for reinforcements, which doesn't seem to be good news for the both of the vamps. Especially when they find them standing over an injured soldier.

(OOC: Just a few feet ahead is an alley which they run off too and lose themselves in the concrete jungle or they might try to keep reaching for the weapon under the fence. They could also check out the command centre.)

His mind racing as he went over what he heard, Steres tried to figure out what to do. Watching Tetsuo-san move towards the soldier, Steres focused his attention on the streets around them. They didn't have any idea from where the reinforcements would come from but sticking around to find out didn't appeal to Steres all that much. Steres didn't know where the soldier's rifle had gone but even if they did have it, staying and fighting off soldiers who seemingly had no qualms about using deadly force was probably going to get them killed.

His plan to shoot the soldier went to the fore-front of his mind but he quickly dismissed it. Though he still thought it would be a prudent move, shooting now might alert any soldiers who were nearby of their presence and they'd have a chase on their and Steres had had enough playing cat and mouse that day, especially when the new players had assault rifles and possible body armor. A few buds of sweat dripped close to his eyes, he wiped them off on the sleeve of his shirt.

Looking behind them, he saw an alley they could run down and finally get into the quarantine zone. That was their mission and Steres looked back towards Tetsuo-san.

"More soldiers could show up any minute. We need to get out of here."

He made for the alley, hoping to get away from any soldiers in the area.

ooc: Sorry if I offended you. I don't have a good mental image of the situation for some reason. I fixed it to make it less stupid on my part.

ooc:Who says only your character can see that it's futile to try and get the rifle? Especially when my last post only said Tetsuo would go over there looking for it (and how did Steres even know Tetsuo walked over there because of the gun?). Plus, I said I wasn't gonna try to get it in the ooc thread. I don't mind you controlling my character, but not when it makes him look foolish and your character lectures him afterwards. So I take the liberty of erasing that part and pretend Steres just urged Tetsuo to leave quickly.

Closing in on the soldier, Tetsuo found the gun in pratically the same position as the guard himself. Stuck under the fence. He had used the only tool that offered a remote chance of cutting through the fence, the heavy duty scissors, in the car bomb. Without it, getting through was simply impossible. And with the car weighing it down, levering was out of the question as well. They could probably push the car back and then get the gun, but Steres was right that they shouldn't stick around too long.
Having heavy weaponry might've been nice, but in the end it wouldn't have lasted long anyway.
Going for the walkie to radio for help had dropped from Tetsuo's mind as soon as he had realized he wouldn't get to the gun. The soldier would just have to rely on his luck.

Tetsuo wasn't too concerned about soldiers chasing them. Even without the more pressing situation at the checkpoint, he found it unlinkely that they'd send someone after them. This was no restricted area, but a quarantined one. Two more citizens inside wouldn't really make a difference to the soldiers. They'd concentrate on sealing off the area again and preventing more people from crossing the fence.

Still, it never hurt to make extra sure. So before he folowed Steres, Tetsuo looked at the soldier again. If there was blood on his mouth, head or upper body, he'd use the soldiers hand to draw a blood arrow pointing at the opposite direction of where they'd be going (opposite in the sense of notheast-southeast, so it's still pointing inside the zone). If the soldiers position would allow for it and if Tetsuo would be able to do it through the fence, that is.
After that (or instead) he'd follow Steres in the alleys to get in some distance, before organizing a new ride.

With the alley ahead of them looking clear, steres makes a dash towards hoping to avoid any troops patroling the area. With the command post being attacked, it most possible that bumping against a squad of soldiers is highly likely. Steres runs past Tetsou hoping to get to cover, ignoring what his partner is doing.

As steres runs past, tetsou looks studies the fallen soldier for signs of blood. The soldier is coughing up blood which gives tetsou a chance to pull of his plan to lure any soldiers who would track them by painting decoy arrows with the blood. The vampire sticks his fingers through the fence and on the soldier's mouth, wiping them with blood. However as he does that, his hunger for blood gets the better of him. He pauses to stare at the blood on his fingers, as he mentally fights the urge to lick it all up. Steres who has made it in to the alley looks behind to see if tetsou is following behind, finds tetsou who is beside the downed soldier in a trance. He calls out to tetsou, which snaps him out trance and proceeds to place his decoy. Once done, he follows steres into the alley.

The alley eventually leads up to another main road. Both the vampires take a look around before venturing forth. From their location, they summize that they are some where near shiba park which if steres remembers from the news reports that he has been watching, is close to the centre of the whole lockdown. There are plenty of vehicles on the street to steal however, further up the street tetsou is able to a convoy of trunks where soldiers are herding civilians into. Tetsou remembers about the evacuation which was reported. From where they are it isn't far from where Tomoe's brother lives.

He moved quickly past Tetsuo-san, who seemed to be looking for something on his person, Steres figured. Maybe some kind of pass or something Steres thought. In any case, he didn't think he'd take too long. He could still hear gunshots coming from down the street and he began to wonder what exactly was going on. Part of him wanted to go check it out, see what exactly they were fight(whether it be civilian or something...else) but another part was still a bit shaken up about his brief realization of his own mortality and urged him to get away from the men with body armor and high powered rifles.

finally making it into the alley, Steres figured he'd take a look back to see how much close Tetsuo-san was and whether he should wait a bit for him to catch up. However, as he looked back he could see that Tetsuo-san was still beside the soldier, looking at something in his hand. He didn't seem to be making any moves, he just stayed there, staring. Not sure what the hold up was, Steres called out to him. The gunshots were still going on so he hoped that they would cover the sound of his call.

"Tetsuo-san, what are you looking at?"

His called seemed to break Tetsuo-san out of whatever it was that was holding him up and he proceeded to do something on the ground and then catch back up with Steres. Steres neglected to ask what had happened, focusing on not getting away from the fire fight.

Going down the alley, they eventually reached a main road but took a look around before going.

"I think we're close to Shiba Park. The news reports said that was the center of this whole lockdown, more or less."

Taking a look at the roads, Steres then continued.

"There don't seem to be that many people driving. Staying on foot is probably best. In any case, if we could get in touch with the group already here, we'd get a better idea of what's going on. Hopefully some better weapons as well."

Not that Steres knew how to get in touch with them.

When Tetsuo got to the soldier, the man coughed up blood, presenting a chance for Tetsuo to execute his plan. But as he retracted his blood covered finger, the demon's mouth was already watering. Tetsuo barely stopped before his body moved on it's own, which was somewhat shocking. How could the beast still not be satisfied? He had just fed it in the last hour after all. Was it getting stronger, or he getting weaker? Steres voice pulled him out of it and resolved the situation for the moment. Tetsuo quickly finished what he had intended to do while making a mental note. He certainly had to give this problem some thought as soon as he had the time, before it could escalate.

But as he followed Steres and crossed into the restricted area, there were other things to worry about. Like how to procede from here . It didn't take long until they hit another main road, where Steres gave his opinion of the situation. To which Tetsuo was inclined to agree. A car was a fast way to get around, but just like Steres had pointed out, there weren't many others on the road. And he had noticed that the soldiers were already evacuating the people. It was hard to move unnoticed in a car. And he'd rather be on foot able to move freely if it came to a confrontation again. And it had to added benefit of slowing them down.

But the second thing Steres said was interesting. Joining with the other group, which Tetsuo had given some thought just now. Procede to the family without another delay, with the advantage of just having Steres around. Or delay them further by joining the team even if it meant he'd have to deal with several opponents in case he had to betray the vampires. Those were his two options he had considered until now. But that wasn't necessarily true. Ito had said investigating the alien would be their secondary objective and that some vampires were already in the zone. After careful consideration, Tetsuo belived that the alien was the primary objective for these vampires. Sending backup to retrieve a human family was a bit excessive, even if they were related to a hunter. Because Ito had ordered them to stay clear of the girl herself. If she was there, they wouldn't make a move anyway. Furthermore, if Ito had ordered them to help with that task, he would've had them wait at the house so that they could observe. Because of that, Tetsuo assumed they could go meet up with the others, delaying them further while getting some information and possibly weapons, but then proceede to the family with just Steres by his side. It was a gamble, but it seemed to be one with good odds. And if these vamps wanted to accompany them, there might still be something he could do. He had been given this mission and it seemed they were just backup, meaning he could possibly order them to stay to observe the alien, since it was also something of interest to the clan.

"Agreed. The soldiers are already rounding up the citizens. We should avoid the main road, and move in the shadows instead. Use backstreets or rooftops, while they are busy with the more accessible people. Having the others with us will give us more fighting power, even if they can't provide any information. Let's see if we can get there smoothly."

ooc: Since Ito's call didn't name their location or how to contact them, I left it open. Could be he said it 'offscreen' to not clutter the post. If we don't know you can assume I called Ito for the information.
