There's still reika who might revive him due to a colossal plot twist in which she is disappointed by kurono.

Or, possibly, if kaze/takeshi revive old man, he will revive inaba.

    Probability is low, but existent.

Some manga are actually allowed to close up when cancelled. I dont know the details but there are many manga that have what could be called "abrupt apocalyptic endings". I know that Gantz's Katastrophe was foreshadowed and planned way back to when Kurono researched Nishi's site for hunting tips, but admittedly after the debacle of the Nuri arc, things are going fast and rather forgettable in my eyes. Gantz may finish soon because of cancellation but is allowed to get to at least the start of the Katastrophe. Yes, we're now 7 volumes into this main arc, but seeing how fast this last Italy arc went by compared to even the Onion hunt and I really think something's up.

Final point; correct its not like Bleach and Dragon Ball, where I remember Goku fighting Jackie Chun/Master Roshi went on for nearly 2 volumes and he wasnt even a main baddy.
Not to be a dick but you are forgetting something: The Ring Aliens? That mission was short as hell too. I can only remember it being a couple chapters long and that was set up for the longer but still very short Tae mission. So maybe we're all jumping the shark ourselves here. Even then Gantz is still popular enough that I highly doubt it's getting cancelled. Hell did you ever see the Dark Horse announcement for Gantz? They stated it was coming to America "because of the fan demand". I'd see Berserk getting cancelled before Gantz because it's the only manga that comes out SLOWER then Gantz(a joke) and since the fanbases are roughly the same size.

And there are plenty of times in the manga where a long stretch of nothing particular importance happens execpt to comment on the characters like the Daytime Lantern chapter as well as times when things seem to be getting nutty in quick succession-the shorty alien which led into the school massacre which led into Izumi going crazy and having to obey the infinite will of Pocket Gantz so on and so forth. Maybe we shouldn't take the Christianity approach of looking at every detail and seeing the Apocalypse or rather Katastrope.

I wouldn't take my hate for inaba that far, but still, lol

Well hi, I'm just another poor person who had my life taken over by chapters 1-295 in the past couple weeks and am now suddenly left with no new Gantz, waiting for chapter 296 to come out. So I'm going to be kind of a new lurker here.

I really don't think Gantz is malfunctioning. I think it's just acting without taking the usual rules in mind and using actual tactics of its own - it stopped bothering with points as these were used during what was really just the practice sessions. Now it's either going to kick the weak (Cherry first, it seems) or do the "finished" thing with everyone, enabling them to get stronger weapons and/or bring back old teammates for some impending epic battle. Unless Oku decides to proceed with something more subtle and give us mindfucks over battles in the next few chapters.

Haven't read the last 9 pages of this discussion really, I might come back with a more complete opinion after I do. But I'm really wondering what the vampires are going to want to do now, any clue?

    Because I was bored, I ended up coming up with this Carazzy prediction;

Gantz may have got rid of the timer but hunts are still an hour long. Though the Nuri hunt read 2 and a half hours, there were some "meanwhile" moments so it was really about 50 minutes. The statue hunt rang up the hour and everyone was teleported back. Those with points (everyone except Kurono, Kato, Cherry and Kill Bill) get their points taxed. Those with 0 points get "Finished".
Gantz gives the four an ultimatum; kill at least one other of the "Finished" or it'll kill all four. Thus, the arc continues as Kurono, Kato, Cherry and Kill Bill are forced to fight to the death. Kurono finishes Kill Bill in revenge for his second death, whilst Kato and Cherry both get angsty about wanting to go back for that someone, Kato for Ayumu and Cherry for Tonkotsu. Lots of emo angst, in the end Kato uses his ygun on Cherry and we finally see through his eyes where "up" is.
Back on Earth, HS is angry at Kurono for finishing Kill Bill causing a new sub-plot with Kurono and HS being like Kurono and Izumi.

^ wow...you must have been REALLY bored to come up with that.

After the Oni Alien arc has Cherry really done anything. I honestly can't remember him killing a single alien in the last 2 missions at least. Maybe Gantz put finished under his name because of all the sub par missions hes been getting from the teams only remaining psi-powered member. So whatever Gantz has planned for him (if he actually does plan to do something) is a punishment for him failing to fight to his potential.

Not at all, but, if cherry died now, after using many chapters for him and sakata, how he learned the psychic power, so on....it was as if all vampires jsut disappeared and noone would ever mention that aspect of gantz again.

ofc, we are talking about gantz, in which no charakter is save, no matter how badass or funstyle he is (in no other manga had a charakter like hoi hoi just died.), but though i cannot see that happening.

I've always preferred Sakata over Sakurai.

When Sakurai died, Sakata pwned the alien who killed him and, among other things, blinded the boss nearly getting himself killed.

When Sakata died, Sakurai became even more of a bitch.

Seriously, wtf? Sakurai had potential, but all he's done lately is being all scared. But I don't think the "FINISHED" message means he's going to get killed or anything, just that since catastrophe starts, he and the rest are done with the gantz hunts
