Well, you might want to check the last page once again. It wasn't really his legs that got squished. He looks pretty much dead to me.

And even if he's the last enemy standing right now, we have to factor that wouldn't be a multi national mission if it was a simple deal.
Your reasoning for the time of the missions is off, it's not really about length in years, but rather the development that takes place. This mission is particularly going fast since they've arrived already in the middle of the hunt. Also, instead of seeing how they fare individually like Katou wasting pages and pages on the cyclops youkai, this time we see it dynamically with Katou already sending the Oceanus statue in just one page.
Fake/training mission... what would that be? Because pretty much in Gantz having 90% of the gantzers, experienced or not die, means shit, as we've seen with Nishi or in the Budha mission or especially in Osaka. And since we aren't clear on the catastrophe yet, we can't really say anything about being pointless with lots of gantzers being killed. Also, there are several balls yet to be used, and lots of people yet to die. In Gantz you live through one mission, you live to die another day, that's just the way it goes.

Yeah, it weren't just his legs, but on the other hand it doesn't look like the feet damaged anything past his pelvis, so even with this extent of injuries he still has like 10-15 minutes before his brain suffocates due to lack of fresh oxygen carrying blood and ceases to function...

The comment is the proof for Inaba's death, imo, but since ther eis still a slight chance, I hope he lives.

If anyone ever asks why gantz is and is always going to be my favorite manga, I'll just tell them to read 293. Epic chapter, rip Inaba, I always had high hopes for him.

That could be a mistake.

The problem is that Oku takes real pictures and transform them in the background...many times he forget to take out some minor details.
IMO, the trevi statues had been the aliens since a long time...just like the Buddha statues. Like the Tengu & Inugami, they can change their sizes.
PD: Cali, i was hoping that big statue wasn't Oceanus...why Kato...Oku, couldn't a cool foreigner hunter get rid of that cool alien? Why Tokio must always take all the credit...

Inaba killed so many because he was completely in his moment or focused without trying. A last suicidal, emotional charge. Tension released as the charge ended and splat... perfect timing.
I don't think HS is good because he is skilled/old. It makes more sense that he's just naturally talented. Some people are born with the right attributes that add up to something being successful in some way. Also, I'd guess he was self trained and becoming a vampire supported him well. I don't think he's old only because nano technology is a future thing.

So the aliens are paints or statues, however pieces of art, from all the world and this is why Gantz call teams from all the world.
Poor Inaba, farewell our most human gantzer ^^
Prediction for the last boss: David for sure.

I think he knows what he's doing but just doesn't care about the minor details sometimes.
