Here's some reasons the weapons have a weighted point scale assigned to them:
In the final GWT version the X-gun will be weaker than the X-rifle both in range and effectiveness. The range part is easy. Right now we don't put a limit on the max but in the final version there will be. The success/failure range will be different for each weapon. We will also limit who has access to them based on K. The X-rifle will be twice as effective at close range so if you risk 10 you will get 20 at close range but only lose 10 if unsuccessful. Mongo n I tried it and I was pwng his 50 ptr then he successfully grabbed me and tossed me outta the zone. Plus the transfers from V needed to be weighted. Since the Y-gun is the pts maker I wanted there to be risk associated with transferring V to it. Didn't want people transferring to Y without severely impacting the heath hence the attack available.

^ Fair points. Seeing as the xshotgun in the manga has a 1km range and that the hunt area is a 1 square km, I'd say it would make sense to make the Xshotgun have no max range as long as the line of sight is unblocked (its blocked by buildings and other players), but the xgun should have a max range as its the short range version.
The xshotgun at close range sounds interesting and Im sure you can think of something to equal the range idea above; I hope you do implement it somehow as the xshotgun doubles as a sniperweapon in the manga. In my old dead rpg, I had each weapon fill an item "slot", with Gantzers able to have a max of 4 (one in each hand and two holstered) but as the xshotgun is a bigger weapon, I gave it two slots and it couldnt be holstered. Something to think about 
I still dont really see what a 5 pt difference in the minimum would do to harm the game based on how the alpha played, but I'll see how the beta goes along. At least boost Alien V per Point (I'd say at least double it to what it is now (20V per point), me and dharma pretty much got pwnd in the alpha, at 800V a 40pointer is much more able against multiple attackers).
Oh, and put me down for one of those Vamps in the beta. Based on the photos for the hunters I pretty much know what photo I'm going to use.

@ ikari I wanna see how another hunt goes before I'll consider boosting alien V. Every time I test play an alien I can kill at least two Gantzers. I even killed a Vampire pretty easily.
I will definitly consider it.

@ the alien V, okay thx for keeping it in mind, I know it all depends on the luck of the draw and I know this beta will have new rules so I'm all cool with how youre doing things now, I got nothing more to say 
...Except (dont worry its a smallthing), I come up withe the name fusegun because of word filtering I cant write "g_n" on its own. Looking back, I think nanogun would have been a better name 
Cant wait for the beta
