I agree with feanor and ikari on this. Spreading points is so un-gantz! It doesn't matter who does the boat load of work, it's who gets the kill that makes Gantz: GANTZ! Hope to see that aliens S1 and S2 get a reworked. As it is there's no point using S2 right now. Somehow the game leans more for gantz players than aliens.

I understand your points but Mongo got way more points than anyone else so I think the formula is still valid. I want to reward ppl for posting.too.In a typical hunt you'd have several minions that people could kill for points but here you 'just got one or two aliens. In this way we address it. If you don't reward ppl for playing they won't.

S2 is suppossed to be used to attack long range like the Xr. Also if a hunter is on the roof you'd need to use S2 (if your in range). A S1 or X-gun attack would only be half effective. or cause 50% damage if successful. Aliens would need to use ito use S2 when in flight too, did I say fliight Aliens will also be allowed to do 1 additional attack per cycle for every 5K in beta. Noob hunters will only be alowed 40 X or Xr and just 20Y too. It should balance thinks out.

To reward people for posting is not a bad idea. But you can do that without giving the characters gantz points although the didn't actually kill aliens.
You kill aliens and get Gantz points until you reach 100 and get....a stronger weapon (nobody is gonna go free right?).
But the other players that run around and did not get kills, gain experience nevertheless. The learn how to handle the suit and the guns better.
And that's the reward you should give them. Simple exp points.
And people that kill aliens get exp points and gantz points.

Any other system just seems wrong. If someone fights the alien head on in close combat while another snipers the alien and kills it, both would get points in your system. Which is nice of you, but not very Gantz like.

All valid points but there will never be enough minions in a hunt to give enough opportunities for Nishi(like) points. Who would bother playing a 5 pt Alien? Not me. I did develop a system for autonomous movement and actions but it's way too easy to kill them off. Mongo and I tested it and we were like, why bother.

I still stand by my first point of using your system for exp, like Feanor reiterated above and then having Gantz Points. Like Fea and Dharma said, its not Gantz to do it the current way. I understand how hard it is to make a balanced exp progression and you are going to defend your creation, thats why Im saying to keep it as xp along the normal Gantz pt mechanic - like Feanor said youre still rewarding players that got 0 aliens.

On the multiple little alien debate, your points arent strong enough on this to validate not changing the mechanic to something more than one person agrees is better, while keeping your hard work on the mechanic in one piece. You're talking like people wont be able to get varied points and never get to the 100, but the test hunt just showed that Diego nearly got to the 100 in one go, while everyone else got exp.

Theres also never going to be a load of players taking aliens as people would rather be the hunters. As dharma said, this means the Hunters have an advantage. I'd say the alien player(s) get to control more than one alien in these cases, say numerous Tanaka's and one Big Bird each for example. The aliens V must at least total the total hunters V though. These are just ideas off the top of my head.

I'm with Feanor and Dharma to have separate exp pts and Gantz points.

Side note; Onion Dad and the Chibi aliens were worth 3 points. Based on your mechanic they're easy prey. Like you said, and adding to it, no-one would want to play an alien that is under 20 points realistically. A 20 pointer is practically an Oni sub-boss in the manga.

You all make interesting points here. You must remember the scoring is very liberal so we can put certain algorithms in play. The final product will be less forgiving, although I do think one should get something for participating. So I'm not opposed to it. The chances of anyone clearing are very minimal at best. I was amazed no Gantzer got killed. I may be one in beta.

We will allow aliens to post an additional action per/5K per cycle. Either in one post or multiple and flight will be available for aliens too.

Some things that will be available for gantzers will be swords and h-guns, though no one will probably get the-gun. The sword will be based on a % of a %. So for an index of :
    8,744.55 change % 3.(99) change of 335.(21)
99% of 21 will be taken from your targets vitality. Amounts are rounded up.

The H-gun will use the higher number of the change or change % but the success failure margin is much higher.

Also these arcs aren't meant to last more than 8 weeks.

    GWT: Sw ACTIONS:
Sw actions are needed to use the sword. It uses all the aspects of your index. Your index determines if your action is successful , the change number determines the maximum amount of pts you could get (i.e. .50 = 50 pts, .00 = 100pts here), the change percentage determines what percentage of the maximum you'll get (.00 means 100%, numbers are rounded up). Damage multipliers do not apply.

We'll go with this in beta. We should get major damage with it though only hardcore vets can get it.

^ Fair enough. I didnt mean to rip into the mechanics, I just would like the game to be the most satisfying for all us Gantz fans and rpers (Dharma's rp is all kewl too ).

    I know you're boosting up the aliens, though I'd suggest the following;

Aliens have 30V per Point they are worth (not 10). S1/S2 is worked out as per your system and there is a 5pt minimum to use X and Ypts.

I tried this out using the d10 playtest system I've mentioned before and it works well while still keeping action quick and tight. As most players went for 20pt uses for the weapons anyway, a 5pt minimum wont really affect gameplay too much and 30V rather 10V for each Point makes playing an alien of lower points more worthwhile, at least superficially.

EDIT - Nu_Delic, looks like the beta hunt wont be too long away, huh?

    GWT:VAMPIRE:
    GWT:VAMPIRE:STATS:EXPLAINED:
    [#V:#F:#Sw:#K]

#V = Vitality is your health.
#F = Fuse gun used for long range attacks.
#Sw = Sword used for close combat.
#K = Successful in hunt Actions # followed by the GWT accumulated total #.
(Successful in hunt Actions + your accumulated total = your K)

    GWT:VAMPIRES: V ACTIONS:
V actions are needed to suck the V from your opponent.
Close range attacks include:hand to hand combat and possession.
10pts minimum, no maximum for hand to hand/melee. Damage multipliers do apply.
100pt minimum to posses a human. Once possessed the human is turned and can no longer attack you.
Vampires do not use Suits, X-guns or Y-guns your X-gun stats will get converted if you get possessed and survive the hunt.

    Statement. (#V:Index)
    Stat line
    (10 point minimum)

    GWT:VAMPIRES: F ACTIONS:
F actions are need to use the fuse gun. It's like a long range machine gun and you can target one additional target for every 5 K. Damage multipliers do apply. Unsuccesful attends will only subtract the risk amount even for multiple targets Successful attacks will yeild the full risk amount to each target.

    Statement. (#F:Index)
    Stat line
(10 point minimum - for a successful attack the risk amount applies to all the targets. A unsuccessful attack only the risk amount will be deduced directly from your vitality.)

    GWT:VAMPIRES: Sw ACTIONS:
Sw actions are needed to use the sword. It uses all the aspects of your index. Your index determines if your action is successful , the change number determines the maximum amount of pts you could get (i.e. .30 = 30 pts, .50 = 50 pts, .00 = 100pts here), the change percentage determines what percentage of the maximum you'll get (.00 means 100% - numbers are rounded up). Damage multipliers do not apply.

    Statement. (#Sw:Index)
    Stat line
    (1 point only)

Vampires will probably start with [200V:50F:3Sw:0K] for beta. Only need 2 Vampires in beta.
