A quick question. Does the character background when creating a character have any influence on the starting stats of a player. Because that's one thing I never liked.
It's normal for ordinary RPG's that play in monster infested fantasy worlds to have that. But Gantz is a GPR set in the real world with normal characters that know nothing about what they will go through.
Sadly every second player in the other RPG's tries to gives his character a little head start by adding some kind of fighting background.
Not that I blame them (it's tempting to do it), but I never really liked it. It's just not realistic that almost everyone can either handle a gun or is adapt in hand to hand combat.
Just look at angryman's character Dino. An ex mafia killer that now teaches at a military base (something like that if I remember correctly). You can't give your charcter a better head start than this.
Not that that RPG isn't great, but I'd also like to read an rpg were not everyone was in a karate club prior to becoming a Gantzer. Just normal people thrown into the meat grinder and hell that is Gantz and that will grow with time and experience.
