Well, the song was played but it didn't sound right...and the message, the song and the ball opening were all at the same time.

For me it seems that Gantz was rushing things...

It's possible that the song was from doraemon, but then the osakans mentioned this Kidataro guy...

It would be too weird if they have a doraemon song...

^My idea isn't too far away from yours actually; it's just that I think by trying to speed up the process, Gantz ended up having a few glitches.
If it was only about the speed, it could go like this: transfer all characters, open the ball as soon as they're all there, and transfer right away.
But they still had time to chat, and the ball displayed those symbols, and there was the song, as if - like remarked by my friend Larry - Gantz was trying to act normally but couldn't, or it was a secondary element triggered by the primary function, which would be the ball opening up.

Then again, there's the matter of the room being dark... one can notice that outer lights even produced the shadows of the characters, so it wasn't all that dark to begin with, but suposedly they can't really see much; like with Katou telling Kurono who's in the room as if he weren't able to see, and Kurono bumping into Reika. If we take into consideration that they couldn't see a thing, then the enabling of the song would be to aware them of the ball being opened, but I doubt it.

And in any case, the screen displaying those messages should produced light, even though a faint one.

I don't get why the other teams seem to have so many team members.

^Tokyo also had a large number of team members during the budha mission and the dino mission.

The thing is, as far as we know, the Tokyo team is one of the "worst" teams, so to speak... they don't know what's going on, and they don't have weapon upgrades.

It's easy to imagine how a team with at least one h-gun user is able to survive even with newbies, which eventually might become veterans, especially if they haven't had many tough missions.

    ..?

Although the missions are progressively more difficult since the Oni mission, it wasn't like that before.

It's a matter of analyzing the previous missions (I already did it a long time ago).

    It'd go like this:

Onion aliens < Tanaka aliens < Budha statue aliens > chibi aliens < dino aliens > ring aliens < Oni aliens < youkai aliens < new statue aliens.

Don't jump to conclusions too fast, of cause the mission only started (for the tokyo team )and the aliens are overall stronger than in the last mission. But Nuri pretty much evens it up...fuckin pain in the ass, he was.

Yes, but he was a retard or intelligent but too arrogant.

I'm sure if the aliens of the fountain get bored, they won't leave the hunters..

You can't say for sure that he's retard or arrogant, because he's an alien, and a being of power that is beyond human scope, so it may be that his way of thinking is out of our bound of reasoning.

^Still... "this is nothing" he said, as he was being sniped. And he was looking for fun and went after Oka (haha). I know that ideally we could imagine that the aliens in Gantz have different thinking patterns and a whole differente reasoning but I don't think that's the case with Nuri. I think he was the perfect boss to match the Osakan team.

The thing is he had plenty of opportunities to take out the whole team and didn't do it, regardless of his reasons. But that applies to the Oni boss too, with his lightining attack. It's a needed flaw in my opinion to keep things going...

Anyhow, back to the topic, regeneration might be more difficult to handle, but an enemy you can't even manage to properly hurt, without regeneration, and with the suits being innefective from the start, I'd say that's tough. And there's also that guy with the super-suit, already dead. So they are either equal to Nuri - concerning their ability to kick gantzer ass - or superior. IMO.
