^That's one of the reasons that add for the suicide idea, I believe.
Also, there's the possibility that fatty being there made him unable to do it. (I don't think so, since he didn't even knew she was there for a while)
But it could be, as usual, either Hiroya's fluke or maybe Nishi's stupidity - though I would so much like to believe the second possibility is not so...

Oh well, kinda disappointed to see it was only a SWAT tram after all.

Still it was a badass chapter though, the 2 page drawings were awesome.

And Nishi got fucking lucky this time, i also liked how fatty still cared about Nishi despite the fact that he killed her entire class in front of her, love can makes people pretty darn stupid in gantz.

I think weŽll be seeing some classmates and SWAT members in this mission.

(I don't think so, since he didn't even knew she was there for a while)
It was pretty clear that he knew that fatty was there, why would he not noticed her?

I reckon it was because of him sparing her that he couldnŽt turn invisible.

Why ? he resurrected as the well trained Gantzer just few days ago...
That's true, but he wasn't there for the Nuri Mission. To me, it seems like there's such a huge gap in difficulty between the Oni Mission and the Nuri Mission, that Kurono wouldn't be ready for Katastrophe if he didn't fight a 100-pointer or something similar at least once before.

I think the Tokyo Team got lucky that the Osaka Team did a lot of the work last time and they only had Nuri himself to deal with. If it was just the Tokyo Team, having to kill all those aliens/yokai, plus Tengu, Kitsune and Nuri, they would've failed without Kurono or Izumi. Hell, they might even have failed with them (it was Oka that actually exposed Nuri's weakness).

I'm in for either a boss defeatable by the y-gun or the sword. It'd be so sad to have yet again a huge load of invincible boss chapters. If there were several not so tough aliens and the same number of chapters for all of them to be defeated it would be cool though.
Me too, man, me too... If it's going to be another 100-pointer, I hope that, rather than having super-regeneration skills, he has super-offensive skills or something. That changes the fight a little. Well, okay, Nuri was pretty damn strong offensively too, but I'm talking about something that would really send powerful Gantzers running. But yeah, point being: no more unkillable Nuri's. Or at least not in the same way.

But if the mission were to be only a solo 100 pointer, or maybe two of them, that'd be ok, though by the number of aliens in the Oni and Nuri mission, most likely we'll have tons of it again. I just sort of hope the target will be some new kind of alien and not the vampires.
A lot of strong aliens would be interesting too, or maybe an 80-point boss or something.

I think there will be new aliens, but the vampires might show up to help them. Every time we've seen them, their encounters have gotten more interesting: 1) they show up just at the end of a mission, 2) attack Kurono and Izumi in broad daylight, 3) they're present during the Oni Mission and give the aliens information (maybe they were prepared to help out if the aliens wanted them, but just left when the Oni Boss made his move), 4) attack Kurono and Izumi again in larger numbers and kill them.

Perhaps the next time we see them, they're helping the aliens from the start. Then the entire Tokyo Team will have to defend themselves from enemies that won't even give them any points, aswell as the usual aliens.

But what about the "Oh... you're still here?" or something line?
    EDIT: Oh, nevermind, my mistake.

    That's an interesting possibility too.

    Commenting on recent posts -

I dont believe Gantz would have sent Nishi a little message ball to get new Gantzers. Izumi had one when he was free and as such a theory is only free people get a ball, Kurono may or may not find one in his apartment eventually. Also Izumi noted he only found it a few days before telling Kurono about it, remember Kurono was the only Tokyo hunter left at this time. There is possibly a perception filter on the ball (or freed hunter) and when the team runs the risk of being totally eliminated, as with Kurono, the ball can be discovered. As such, it probably become noticed around the time of the Chibi hunt, making Izumi's obsession with Gantz grow. Also notice that his date of choosing to create a team was chosen by him, not Gantz.

As of Nishi's suicide mission, wasnt he still hanging round after school was finished? If we're right saying there is still one day until Katastrophe in the timeline, then he quite possibly just went into a catatonic state after doing it. There is no way he can do something like that and not have any lingering effect on him. Even Izumi noted he'd be going to hell for what he did in his dying speech.

Also, yeah this has to be the last mission until Katastrophe. We've been waiting ages and we're already on the 6th volume of this phase roughly. People are going to get 100 points, they have to. As for the Nuri hunt, if Kyou wasnt smacked up he would have got the 100 points when he tracked him down with Nuri. Goes to show that a habit like that will kill you

My predictions for deaths in the Tokyo team and reasons why are in that other thread. I also hope that the Osaka team returns, at least Kuwa will have a hgun this time anyways.

^No, no, the date was chosen by Gantz, wasn't it?
As far as I remember, the ball had the time and place set.

As for Nishi, I beg to differ. Izumi could pull a massacre and not be disturbed by it, Nishi has way less appreciation for humanity in him. Izumi tried getting Kurono to stop him before the massacre, remember? Nishi doesn't give a shit if they are trash in his eyes.

The mention about the volume has just reminded me that vol 25 is scheduled to be released on February.

It'd be interesting if Kuwabara took to himself the role of leader, though I don't think he has any interest in that... unless he tries and boss around the girls to let him screw them...

The translation I read had the ball just read to get people for the next hunt. It was Izumi who told Kurono he'd be in Shinjuku on Sunday (Izumi chose Shinjuku as he remembered the Jeans Alien hunt there).

Just because Nishi thinks people are trash doesnt mean he eventually wont be feeling the effects of something like that internally at least. We've discussed before that the uncaring sociopath aspect of him is really just a front. And if there are classmates as Gantzers on the next mission, he'll feel it alright.

Also I never said Kuwa would be leading, just he'd have a hgun as his running score would be on par with Nobuo's now. It would be realistic to assume he has 400 points now.

^I still disagree on the Nishi issue, because personally I think someone will only feel anything if he destroys something he can sympathyze with. To put it simply, I don't think Nishi see his classmates as humans, and that makes all the difference, that's part of what makes one able to kill without regrets... imo.
Usually people won't resent killing a mosquito that's been annoying them, for instance.

And yeah, I know you didn't say anything about Kuwie leading, those were just my thoughts on the subjet ^^
As the Osaka team is now, he is the strongest... followed by Nerdo (haha)

EDIT: Indeed, the ball only had the recruit message, not the date or anything.

Wonder where this mission will take place.
If we think the distance between missions (last one being in Osaka) is proportional, then we'll probably still be in Japan for it, but we could be on the north island of Japan, or all the way to the west in Hiroshima (some atomic-bomb mutated monster? Who knows what the mangaka can come up with next, the latest missions proved his imagination can get pretty wild), since those are about double the distance of Tokyo-Osaka. I doubt they'd suddenly find themselves in Europe/America, that's still too far IMO.

Hong Kong/South Korea/Thailand are also possibilities, but it's hard to guess, this is more like betting.

The chapter was a nice conclusions to this, and this mission is going to be quite dreadful. Hopefully Gantz will already announce what it is next chapter; don't want to see one chapter of just talking. Seeing Nishi's classmates like someone stated above could be pretty entertaining (I hope that won't be the only interesting thing though); Gantz has a special sense of humor, he did make Kurono's girlfriend a target.
