Guess they only saw him and the dead cat but not the gun... Can remember that part but this event must have been two years ago in the manga now...

Or Nishi's just recently killed cats again... He must have quite a sadist's core...

As for the cat killing thing, there are some possibilities

1. it was another cat, different from the one we were shown in the earlier volumes
2. they saw him killing the cat but failed to notice the gun he used... ¬¬
3. they saw Nishi and a dead cat and assumed it was him
4. a translation screw up
5. Oku's screw up
6. Gantz likes Nishi
