That's what bothered me with Osaka arc. Kei is the main protagonist. All the story was wrapped around Kei in the past. His death broke the story somehow. But it was clear that he'll have to return after osaka again.

I think the main plot shifted to the origin of Gantz now. The characters seem to become more and more removable.

^ Nah. The devolpment around Tae, Kurono and Reika was really interesting.
Though it doesn't make much sense yet about what evil plan Reika is really planning.
Doubt she'll kill Kurono or Tae. She's not that type of girl

An evil Reika could replace Izumi. Kekekeke
Not like she ever can though. Keke

Judging evil just depends on your own Point of View, remember that.
And never, EVER underestimate a Girl desperate to get herself the Man of her Heart.

Hell has no fury like a woman scorned.

The proper way to handle such a situation is engage in a brief moment of passion (take it as far as time permits) then push the women away professing your true feelings. Women respect a guy who is faithful to his heart. The way he did it he basically said "I 'd do you if I had the time". She is in emotional limbo.

"Women respect a guy who is faithful to his heart." A bit too much on the idealistic side, no? Surely, women like Tae could respect their boyfriends being loyal, but I don't think that applies to one-sided love, specially in case of rivalry. Also, I do not think Kurono telling the truth was a wrong move at all. Talking about wrong ways of doing things, showing up at the guy's door and pratically saying "I came here for you to fuck me" isn't really... well, it's pretty neat, but you know, Kurono and Tea are already a couple, so technically, Reika is "duh", especially since she herself revived Tae.
Now, as for more pertinent issues, what I think about these recent off-room chapters: as I imagined, Oku is showing us each of the team's characters and their main motivations, brought about as the promise of calamity is about to unfold. Kurono has decided to fight, to protect Tae (old story, but oh well, at least he won't go free anymore). Reika has decided to fight for Kurono (old story too, thought fighting to get her own personal Kurono adds the bit of spice to a nice super selfish motivation). What does this imply to the team performance? Remember how Kurono fared in the Oni mission driven by the set purpose of reviving Tae and later Katou and Kishi (just because he didn't do it, it didn't mean it wasn't in his plans at first)?
I think either Reika will die, or she'll become a kick ass gantzer, at least for a while. I don't think she'll have success creating a second Kurono, mainly because that could take away the focus on the main characters to emphasize the implications of this new life. But then again, it would be something Oku could pull. I still vote for Reika reviving Izumi, though I guess that's not happening.
What could still happen: Reika goes on a rampage, kills lots of aliens, but then gets to the boss, which is out of her league, and is on the verge of being killed when Inaba sacrifices himself for her, Kishi/Sei/Anzu style. Reika feels utterly moved and overcomes her feelings towards Kurono and revives Inaba. Or that might serve to the purpose of emphasizing Reika's selfishness and even so she goes for the Kurono revival, leaving Inaba out of the team for good. I personally like this last possibility, because I think if there's ever going to be a second Kurono, he'll somehow be killed without much delay - rendering Reika's effort useless - and that'd give Reika's personality a certain weight: Kurono has the resolution to fight for others, Reika then would have the resolution to fight for herself - one step away from becoming a cold crazy bitch.

This whole 2nd Kurono thing, while it sounds like a good and interesting twist, it just won't happen. People in "crazy" love, I believe, want two things most of all: 1) to the be with the person of their affection, or 2) to forget. Though boring, I think Reika will attain the required points then exit Gantz. Ignorance is bliss they say: no worries about love, no worries about the impending catastrophe.
That half-crazy, crafty smile she gave near the end of the last chapter was her just trying to be sneaky about being constipated.

^ Reika going free and forgetting would be likely an option, but I discard it because I believe the catastrophe will make forgetting useless, and being a gantzer the most helpful thing on whatever the world becomes.
@ Blue Demon: The thing is, given a 2nd Kurono would become true, I don't think he'd be friendly with his other self, maybe he'd try to end his useless existence, because I don't think he'd fuck Reika either; he'd most likely be annoyed to be considered a thing, even though he could understand her feelings, her action is playing god, much like Gantz itself. One thing he could do would be erase his "Kurono-ness" cutting his hair and changing his looks, or just plain old suicide, or some crazy world wrecking, though I find it unlikely.
