Kuruno and Reika?
I think it very possible for Kuruno to return Reika's love. Though Tae and Kuruno have seemed to be bonded, as seen on chapter 282, they could easily break-up like any other relationship, and Kei could definitely get with Reika, which is what I'm hoping for.
What are your thoughts about it?
^I think Oku has developed the idea of Kurono-Tae love for a reason. We've already been through the "Reika temptation" issue, you know.
I don't see it coming.
And now, as far as this thread goes, isn't there already threads about this? I do believe so. Before creating a new thread, use the "search" function and check if the topic isn't already debated.
Yes, don't worry about my skills towards forums, I have many accounts over thousands of posts.

Thank you for your opinion, as well. Yes, Oku did create that relationship but his whole story is known to be completley random and unbeknown. So your theory makes sense, in a sense, but I'm guessing not completley sensed in the sense of Gantz.
^Well, it was only an advice. I still think there are more threads that work well enough about the possibility of such relationship.
Anyway, since I'm here for a while, I'll develop my idea a bit further.
I think Oku tries to show with Gantz, alongside the mystery the technology and the insane aliens, is human nature in its best and its worst. It has its philosophical share as well, but my point is toward one of the most simple things found in Gantz: truth. True values. It's about feelings and true esteem; for instance, Kurono and Katou being friends, and the difference both made to each other in the development of their personalities. And, in the same manner, the idea of love with Kurono and Tae.
The thing is, Gantz is a good manga, so it's not only about the beautiful ideal love, no, Kurono fucked a girl out of sheer lust and made her feel like shit before, there are rapists every now and then and even Kurono himself felt like abusing Kishimoto.
However, I think all that Kurono has experienced led to this "perfect state" in which he has very defined ideas about what he wants and what's most important to him. If he'd so easily change his love, he wouldn't bother reviving Tae. I don't think their bond can be easily broken. The only way I see Kurono-Reika happening is if Tae dies yet again, Kurono goes crazy and becomes a bastard that needs some fucking, much like he had done Sei. I don't think Kurono can ever come to love Reika.
And that's about my full opinion on the matter, I guess.
>.> I seriously think it's time the mods came down on the growing tag problem...
^That said i dunno, really Cali... What you said makes sense, that oku would aim for something like that at the end of the day... i.e. the message that the author would want people to get out of the manga, but...
But it certainly does not tally up to everything we've seen so far. Gantz is a manga where love borne out of Gantz almost invariably results in death for the girl (Reika is the only still alive out of four (Sei, Anzu, Kishimoto)), where feelings count for nothing - the only thing that happened when Tae rushed in to protect kurono was that she got herself killed... but well on the bright side, it did save his life...
At any rate, I can't shake off this... "feeling" that the present "KuronoXTae" is a setup for making her death become more striking. Just a feeling - one of these "it's gonna happen cuz everything seems to point towards it not happening".
On a side note, someone wrote that Tae dying is "not gonna happen" cuz Kurono "loves her"... let's see... Kishimoto loved Katou... Anzu too. Sei loved Kurono, Tae loved kurono, and to a greater or lesser extent, the guys liked/loved them too. That didn't keep them from dying, very brutally, and it won't keep it from happening in the future... so far, from what we've seen, is that true love does count for "something" but it won't stop a twelve gauge from blowing your head off point blank, if things come down to that.
The girl issue aside, Katou and Kurono aren't friends yet... Katou might think they are, but Kurono didn't realise Katou's worth until he died, and we haven't seen a proper "KatouXKurono" conversation where we can safely claim they truly understand each other. Just admiring/being thankful to the other person for everything they've done doesn't make two people friends, let alone close friends. There has to be more "living together/reciprocity" for that.
^I agree on the Kurono-Katou pairing not being totally developed, but in my opinion the admirational issue fills in just the same. Anyhow, back when your "sister" made her posting entrance here, I made a post about how Kurono and Katou could now have room for some healthy friendship interaction that they haven't gotten ever since they were kids. Of course back then it was just a theory for Kurono's possible come back.
Anyway, talking about "now", for starters, Katou has visited Kurono, even though it was a group visit, it's more than what they did back in the days Katou was the leader. Still, I realize that's almost nothing. The thing is, even though there's this beautiful idea of friendship, just as you said, there's no dialogue, there's no full comprehension of each other's character, just an illusion of it by maximizing the strongest points of each and having them appear in the story as remembrance for one another. I guess they'll really bond during the missions then...
"A good chapter?"
I guess it is, it's been a very long time since i saw more than two lines post in this forum...
Okay, speaking of character depth - I dunno, really, whether we can truly expect relationships to be more than one dimensional in an action oriented manga when its hard for characters to individually have anything in the way of depth. It's not a novel where inner monologues abound... Kurono and Katou are significantly more "elaborate" than everyone else because of the occasional insights oku gave us here and there (ok, more than occasional as far as Kurono is concerned), but it's still a far cry from a novel, where giving out inner thoughts is the staple. For a relationship to be more than one dimensional, you need to know what drives both of them, and then how they relate with each other. Izumi and Kurono was everything except one dimensional, for example.
Reika and Kurono admire each other, even I expect it to be much more on Reika's end - Personally, my take on "love" for the purposes of a manga is "someone with whom you are willing to share your life with, both domestically and emotionally". In that sense, admiration could be the starting point. As far as Reika is concerned, who lives in a world made up of "facades" and "images", Kurono is probably the one of the few "real" person she knows - who cries when he feels like it, goes out of his way to help others (even though, as i discussed at length before, it wasn't something that was part of him, at first, and still isn't quite part of him yet - "I'll come back for Tae" is still a far cry from Katou, saying he has to go back to Ayumu, but still wishing, during his last moments, that Kurono comes back to life even he doesn't (buddha arc)...). Meeting him probably made her realize how empty her present life is.
So to her, Kurono probably has this irrestible "normalcy" and "reality" appeal. He's also an unstoppable monster in mission (l337 skillz 5/5 XD), which she seems to dig...
Well which everyone else seems to dig - except Tae, whose concerned about him getting hurt... actually, that seems to be her only concern. In that sense, i think Reika wins out over Tae - she has seen him both in and off mission, seen how desperately he strived to save Tae, and believes in him, who he really is...
....as opposed to Tae, who only knows and loves the 'caring kurono' who saved her.
So in that sense, i believe Reika is a MUCH better match for Kurono.
At any rate, Reika has a lot of growth potential, as a character in her own right, probably about as much as Cherry.
That being said, i really think that oku's recurrent "Kurono watching Reika on T.V." shots are an indication of how little he understands her - like everyone else, he only sees and likes the "image" of reika - he goes out to meet her, back then, not to meet her, but to meet a star. At any rate, the latest chapter shows Kurono not only doesn't understand her, but that he isn't interested in making a move in that direction either. What can we deduce from that? Either that one - Oku is gonna kill her, very soon, probably protecting kurono. And then we'll have a line reading "nobody really understood her, and she died just as someone finally realized there was more to her than meets the eye".
Alternatively, Oku is indicating to us that this situation is about to change, and Kurono will get to know her better.
Of course, it could also be that he intends to drag on the situation a bit longer, but kurono-tae-reika will change eventually... whether kurono walks out of it with Tae, Reika, dead, or alone is entirely up to Oku... personally, i'd rather see it happen with Reika for the reasons listed... as a side note, i stopped digging oversized chests a long time ago, and would have personally preferred seeing her with a bit less... Sounds weird, huh?
Off: The 500+words wonder is back!!! GARRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
^ Well, on the Reika knowing Kurono better than Tae, I agree. Actually, she could be a good match for Kurono, much as Sei would. Tae is more Kishimoto-like concerning being useless, and even Kishimoto had more in her than the "mouse" as you call her ^^
But still, as Oku has showed the idea of almost innocent love... "I brought her here for this?" (Kurono thinking after getting Tae to have sex with him), and I dig the caring, be it either Tae/Kurono or Kurono/Katou. So yeah, Reika would be a nice pair to Kurono, but I personally prefer his thing with Tae. (as I've stated over and over these last days; really, I'm a walking piece of repetitions)
I think your sig is too big. Kekekeke. Have a nice ban.

Anyway he's right, your sig is too big, and that's a bannable offence here... Change it to the dimensions everyone else uses before you get the boot.
@Cali, on 'caring': I still have no idea why Kurono dragged Tae into his room either... I can figure out why she agreed (an outlet for trauma, kurono being the best she could find and her knowing it, kurono being a bridge to her old life), but i have no idea why Kurono did it on his end... Oku did a houdini on us and shrugged it off with Kurono not really knowing himself. At any rate, one of the reasons i'm for Tae dying (well the only reason really) is that Reika will obviously try to comfort him on the spot and, Kurono being Kurono... the next page will probably feature them banging very hard, with Reika thinking something like "I know he's just using me as substitute, but...".
Of course, it could just be the way a manga is made (i.e. you turn pages instead of seeing a continuous flow) but Kurono sex scenes always seem to happen out of the blue...
