Thread: Gantz - An actual online game

Good luck man i really want to see one of this projects to actually work. i was using the quake3 engine and made some stuff but sadly never found someone that would help with the visuals/models, which was essential because im only good at coding. Anyway good luck

most of the guy who plan this stuck only in planning without really make the game, so do your best, i hope you really make the game, don't have to be really great and awesome but fun to play

I'd suggest to use the Source Engine. Almost anyone interested in Shooters has it anyway (with CS, DoD, Portal, HL2 and TF2 you have quite a reach).

I would help with coding, too - and if good Tools are provided, might throw in a few Textures and Models (especialy for some high Level Weapons, as Okus Designs are quite far from userfriendly, somehow).

hmm it's easier to create a gantz map in counter strike game (like wanted, cs zombie), it's not easy but it's the most easiest way to make a multiplayer gantz game

I could see it easily as some kind of source mod. I mean the most obvious thing would just simply making gantz skin for the models, and so forth.

Imo anyone who tries to make an online game of Gantz should use the old game as an example. It had rpg and beat 'em up elements which would make it more interesting than just a simple ego-shooter perspective game...

HMm i think gantz is best with 1 st person shooting (for me anyway).
If it got rpg elements (level, str, dex) i think it's kinda unfair to the new player.
I think gantz with gampelay like CS is the best you defend your life with skill, your experience not with lvl
