I beg to differ. Really. All she did was take on kanon barehands, which lasted one chapter. She kicked the acid pot. Good move, lots of points, but then she got owned. That's all she did in her own right. Period. I can't really disagree on Sei having the best sex scene though.

Reika has a good run during the InabaXAlien chapter. The aim for 'kurono's' rifle part was sweet. Also even though it happened mostly off-screen, Reika got 100 points. No other gantz girl ever came close.

^ Reika had some easy aliens. Most of them got 100 points after the oni mission.

But Sei fought the fucking boss! Even Katou had hard times with that one. And he died too... Her fighting skills were as impressive as Kaze's close combat

I happen to be a big fan of Sei myself, both in terms of hotness and for her skill as a Gantzer.

While Reika is definitely great and a reasonable leader (a lot better than I would've expected her to be when she was first introduced), I think Sei had more potential. Just look at their first missions; Sei kicked quite some ass in the Buddha Mission and she fought Thousand Arms. Even Kurono got himself owned by that boss pretty darn quick. Reika, on the other hand, hung back throughout most of the Dino Mission and about the only thing she accomplished was not get eaten by a T-Rex. So yeah, while Reika is awesome, I think Sei has a better fighting instinct (or whatever you want to call it) and would've probably been better than Reika had she survived. I still wonder whether she's gonna get revived eventually or not.

Two more things: it was Sei's brilliant acid-pot-kick that destroyed Thousand Arms's regeneration device; we're not sure if it would've even been possible to destroy the boss otherwise. Also, I know the value of the Gantz manual has been brought up, but I believe it listed Sei as an S-type fighter. In other words, on the same level as Kurono and Izumi.

She looks awesome when she goes head on v. boss. Dodges him, kicks the pot, and what not. Then she gets her ass handed back to her. Ridiculously easily.
Because Katou died v. Kanon doesn't make Kanon strong. Going only on that, Nuri is weaker, kuz he didn't kill Katou XD.
That said, Kaze kicked arse with his barehands, for well over three arcs. Kurono kicked arse close range for even more. Sei kicked arse, then died within a single chapter. Personally, I think that a single chapter is not enough to win Sei the title of best girl. Well, two, if you count the sex scene.
Reika has been around longer, contributed more points to the team. Like I said, it happens mostly off page, so we don't really know how hard it was. She might have had it easy. Might. However, saying that the Oni mission had easy aliens cuz everyone got 100 points... again, beg to differ. Kaze had a hard time with the boxer alien, same for Sakata and Sakurai, and the Transforming Oni looked about as immortal as Kanon until Kurono blindsided him. The oni boss everyone had to take turns softening up was no walk in the park either.
Edit: ^The manual again. Izumi is S-Rank. Kurono is S-Rank. Sei is S-Rank. So Sei = Kurono/Izumi, at least potential wise. It doesn't mean anything, really. The manual is not the manga. Izumi friggin slaughtered a few hundred vampires single handedly. Kurono killed almost half the bosses in the manga. Sei kicked arse for just one chapter for christsake. Seriously, Tomb Raider fanboy much ppl... XD.
On second side note, basically, what you are trying to say is that if she hadn't landed that kick, katou wouldn't have been able to kill the boss, kurono would have died, and gantz would have ended there? Let's see, I think bobo pointed something like this out a little while back - If Sakata had helped Izumi, Izumi wouldn't have died, and they would have killed HS and Kurono wouldn't have died... we can go anywhere with what ifs.

Disclaimer: I am merely explaining why I think Reika is better. Everyone is free to have their likes and dislikes. You could have even voted for Nuri, and no one could have told you off for that. If after reading all this you're like "I still think Sei is better, STFU" don't put a post reading just that, just drop your vote in and walk off. Democracy will decide who is best. Go Reika , GO!!!

But for real, sei had that potential to be ranked S. Many ppl die in gantz cause of bad luck and survive cause of positive one. Reika is good, but.. she.. hasn't ... this.... that... Oh fuckit. Too lazy to look for a dictionarry to for an appropriate word.

Oh yeah about Sei's ... potential. Finally remembered the line i was looking for. Final Fight Streetwise (Beat em all game, PS2, Capcom) opens on a bloody looking Kyle Travers saying, "This bloody looking guy here? That's me. Ok, ok, I'm not looking my best right now, but my brother Cody keeps tellin me that I have all this potential... which is good. If you feel good about being potentially good" My opinion is that gantz isn't about potential. It's about results. But that's just my opinion. XD.
