I don't think that it will end soon, Oku started the next Phase and it aren't that much chapters, I'm sure after that catastrophe Gantz will continue^^

I hope this is not true or it'll be a while until it happens.
Because this doomsday is porbably either a mission with a boss stronger than Nuri or many aliens as strong as him. In any case that's bad.
This Nuri arc was horrible enough, no reason to repeat that immediately on an even bigger scale.

Instead of overpowering enemies, I'm hoping for more of an overwhelming amount of aliens for the catastrophe.

^I haven't heard anything about Gantz ending with Phase 2, nor have I seen a translation with the last line of 280 talking about the final battle (just that there won't be time to rest). Though you might be right, I'm staying optimistic.

I disagree that the quality went downhill, but I have a feeling that if there's going to be a conclusion any time soon, it's probably gonna be good.

Certainly I don't agree with you on this issue MGB... Gantz has still the quality other mangas only can dream about...

I guess Oka just wanna install some kind of "fear-factor" with this doomsday-clock. This manga has potential to last a few years... and answer a few questions or not...
Only Oku knows yet how this will end...
