Thread: Gantz 280 - 281 discussion/prediction/spoilers

Hmm, after reading the chapter (sorry, my japanese is kinda rusty), I got the impression that it could possibly be this.

Gantz was placed there and people were chosen as combatants to deal with the alien threat "commando" style. Guerilla type warfare to see how they can handle this threat.

They have been seeded all over the world to handle the aliens separately and a counter has been set before the humans' time is up. It is like a chance for those Gantzers to do what they can to prove that they can defend Earth without resorting to full warfare.

The countdown leads to something. Could be an alien invasion as everyone suggests, but I put forward the theory that perhaps Gantz (placed by some higher other) is the culprit that will blow everything to kingdom come and replace humans with a much stronger army which can deal with the Aliens. If the Gantzers can't prove themselves by then..

Good stuff, but as far as gantz being the bad guy is concerned, i have yet to see IN THE MANGA anything that conclusively shows evidence of him being "bad".

Hmm, going on a limb. So far all of the alien encounters have tied close to resemblance to demonic appearance or monster folklore (Yes, even the dinosaurs to some extent).

Chance of this "Invincible Army" being something along lines of "angelic" but twisted (Kinda like DevilXSword a bit) it'd sound pretty much like Hell and Heaven at war on earth.

Do want explanation to wtf Gantz is before all this ends, if ever.

Nishi's secret(the end of the world) seems too big to keep it one. Izumi likely knew about it as well. Oku straight up took this "phase" outta his ass.

Nishi suddenly 280 chapters later revealing a new mystery, I mean please. If the world's gonna end why bother wanting to be free then? Why cry for your mother when you would just die 2 years later. How the hell does a middle school kid cope with knowing when the apocalypse is. I don't think killing cats with the x-gun, and being an introverted asshole would cut it. Absolutely NO character development whatsoever for Nishi. Seriously is Nishi not human? Even HS in the microscopic amount of chapters he has been in has more character development than Nishi. Freakin hell even Nerdo does.

And why reveal it this great secret now? Why not like 2 years ago? All of this points to Oku being a terrible story teller and simply getting lucky off a great idea. I know all this already so I don't know why I'm complaining. He should stick to the pretty pictures and let someone else do his thinking.

i guess nishi didn't tell anything before because he didn't think it was worth it, even izumi told him the team was no good under pressure. Now, well there's only 1 week remaining so...
the last battle might be a good opportunity for inaba to redeem himself. And i bet he's gonna be the only one to survive. Good stories always need a witness, and he has become a specialist of it, witnessing...
