Morten is a jerk. Unfortunately, I'll side with him, because I too think it would be more productive to put this topic in "Gantz Manga Discussion". That thread needs some serious reviving.

In the beginning that's what he wanted to do. Why would that change?
Because there is an outside chance that he could also get killed outside of Gantz by the vampires or if he stumbles into a hunt by chance? He could also get run over by a car every day.
It's probable that he only witnessed easy hunts compared to some of those we have seen (nuri, oni, 1000arms). After being killed once aleardy with slim chances of getting revived a second time and witnessing such a hard hunt, plus the fact that despite being stealthy he almost died....would he really stay in Gantz?
Normally there is no way and Oku would have to do a hell of a job to justify it, but this is Oku so he'll probably do it without any explanaition at all.
Meaning I can only see Nishi choosing freedom but he probably won't.
