The OP has an interesting idea... It seems impossible for Izumi to be revived otherwise unless the group got desperate and decided to tolerate the fact that he killed them for some firepower. I mean, we haven't even seen him use his new weapon yet.
I can see it happening.
The onlytwo who know about the identity of massacrer are Kei and Cherry (since the other ESP user died). Or am i missing some HUGE fact i forgot about? Sakurai would not, me thinks, because he already tried that, and Sakata stopped him then. So, due to Cherry's respect to his mentor, he would not do that. Kei would not probably care... it is more plausible that He is the one to revive Izumy. 'In the name of justice' or smth like that.
Seeing as it is most likely the Catastrophe will hit before another mission, it seems like whatever happens, the Gantz team will have the ability to get points, as it would be random of Oku to give Hoi Hoi points and not lead it into something.
An alien army does seem possible as the Catastrophe then, I'm guessing (because the Oni and Nuri hunts were large, it'll be a full world sized colony) with all the teams across the world acting at the same time to stop the invasion.
Just where that will leave everyone after I dunno (if that is what Gantz was built for). Maybe everyone with 100+ points goes free whilst everyone else dies.
