Since so many people keep pissing and moaning about Oku's inconsistencies I figured we should have a thread where we can keep an ongoing tally of all of his mistakes. Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder how he designs his story.
It kinda makes me wonder whether he has a structured gantz rule system that he follows. Or if he's just making it up as he goes along -- arbitrarily assigning points. Are there major storyline inconsistencies??? Or do most of the inconsistencies revolve around Kurono's hair color and Kubwara goatee? Maybe Oku just needs to reread his own damn mangas. |

![]() Just kidding. It's okay, but I didn't know someone really would pull the finger... Let's see... there were always situations in which Oku pulled some weird developments, like when Kurono's brother Akira popped up from nowhere. He didn't try to explain AKira's character much and that was highly annoying for me. Maybe we'll see more of Akira/Kurono relations and his position in the manga if both are alive (again). Of course, another mistake Oku made, was the different points allocation system. Many people tried to analyze the system why someone gets more points than the other and how much an alien was worth points. But I have the feeling that Oku doesn't put much thought into the points allocation system and that it's just very random... |

The major point screw up was Kurono killing 7 Tanaka aliens plus the boss and getting only 38 (should've gotten 43). That fail caused the misconception of transferring giving less points than killing; which was only cleared with the manual later on.
Of course, there's also the case of the Oni mission weird scoring... but that isn't really a sure slip off, since he can pull a "the system faced a reset" excuse. The thing with slip offs and their significance comes to play in transfer discussions, for instance, Whether Kurono really remembered killing the Tanaka boss, as depicted on volume 12 (which would mean the last safe state doesn't really apply and is really on Gantz whims whether they come back with their memories or not) or if it was just a fluke, and the last safe state does apply (if we consider it, than the memory is not really erased, it never existed in the first place because they are loaded before, etc)

HS's tie count?

Can't tell for sure, i'm sure there are some Tie stores at dotonbori...
On the other subject, remember when NKG used the X Gun & the Gantz Swords when there were nothing on their Suit pockets? Maybe this is not a mistake, but when the Black Sphere opens, there is always the same amount of X Guns, X Shotguns & Y Guns...even if the Gantz Players took some of them before they leave the room after the previous scoring. |

The Gants endless replenishment had been briefly remarked on the faq thread or latest chapter, I don't remember which one. Anyway, it's an interesting way of getting spare equipment; leave one at home, get a new one and bring back; if they could open up a store and sell shit, Katou wouldn't have a hard time to pay up for his living ^^ The case might be different however concerning the h-guns, which I personally think would work in a singular manner, much like the suit.
