hi guys, heres a theory that i came across. im sure that someone else has posted a variation of it before but i just wanted to see what you all think about it.

gantz is God or a tool of God.
i say Gantz is somehow connected to god for many reasons. One of these is how people are abducted after they die and can later be resurrected. also the way he can kill you at anytime or anyplace, and how he knows if your are about to reveal the exist of Gantz to another person is reminiscent of the all-knowing presence associated with God. Gantz to me has too much power not to be affiliated with god or heaven. His control on the overall fate of the Earth is too great.

Why do i think that the targets that the GANTZERS are sent out to kill are devils/demons/etc that have escaped from hell?
i notice that the monsters never kill anyone out of necessity. If they were aliens wouldn't they target more important places like capitols or leaders? Also they don't seem to kill humans for food so can survive. to me it looks like all the killing is pure fun. Also the monstertransform in naked women all the time. Naked women are used constantly as a symbol of sinfulness and filth (no thats anything wrong with that). they do uber evil things that i would expect an escapee from hell to commit.

Gantz is in control of people he recruits, due to the head implant, which might as well have something to do with the knowledge he has on the people; and that knowledge is only shown by the remarks he remakes at the scoring, which are not all that specific, (they can be inferred just by watching) and the part of knowing when someone is about to leak information might as well have to do with the head implant being a transmitter and so every sound would be recorded real time, so when someone is talking of dangerous subjects, the bomb is detonated, causing only a discrete brain melting if the person is in public. Also, that could explain why Nishi's site was allowed, he didn't speak it out loud (just a theory).

It's uncertain whether his power extends beyond a certain number of people, after all, there is the issue of stealth and the area limit that existed before the Oni mission. Also them being recorded causing the rules to change, maybe. That's still very unclear and renders no functional explanation, only endless theorizing, which is occasionally fun.

As for the aliens, well, it's Gantz himself that said they were seijin (star people = alien).
The theory of demons is way off, imo, because the Onion aliens, the Tanaka aliens and the statue aliens weren't hostile at first. The statue boss even tells they had never harmed humans.

The surviving chibi alien attacked humans in revenge, because he had some sort of sense of justice, and Kurono had killed his companions, so, to the eyes of the chibi alien, he had to kill Kurono's companions, which would be all the humans in his class/school, because he didn't know better (that all of them being human race doesn't mean they're all friends).

The vampires kill humans because they're food.

The Oni aliens killed humans because they were being hunt and later as a form of revenge as well.

Only the youkai have killed randomly.

On gantz being god, or a tool of god... it's still too early to say anything. The latest statement by Nuri, about this being the will of God, "might" refer to gantz, or may not, and does get one thinking down the godly line, but IMHO, it's just Nuri pulling the random wise old man manga skit on us.

Forgot the Ring Aliens, Cali. They attacked at random too. Then theres the Kappe, I guess the dinos started to attack cos of Kurono and Izumi in the park and that Kogal that beat up the Kappe (who summoned a squad of raptors to retaliate). To be honest, Id have to read the arc again to make sure.

And if you see a Tanaka and he asks "Yuzo?", best to walk away. He wont do anything til you damage one of his chicks.

^ The ring aliens didn't really attack civilians, with the exception of Tae and that was already after they had engaged in battle. The ring aliens also didn't try to talk in any way, contrary to pretty much all other aliens.

Ah no worries, though when I read your post I wondered whether they did hit the people before or after they started shooting, but hey. Still yet to read the Kappe arc again (I read that arc so many times to get their stats right for my rpg book... ugh) to check when they go crazy, but thinking, I do believe that Kurono and Suzuki get ambushed by a raptor before that Kogal beats up the Kappe.

Come to think of it, this theory is actually quite possible. So far, all the aliens Gantz wants to kill are demons in some way, either by the way they look or the way they act. Buddah shouldn't be stomping people to death so those were demons in disguise. The fact that they get drafted only after they die feels rather strange, too.

Besides, wasn't there a chapter mentioning a German religious cult worshiping black ball?
