First of all, this seems like a great chapter, even so the milf died and HS is stealing the points (does he even know about points? Or is he just killing Nuri out of fun?)

And secondly, only because oku once wrote in the manga that Kurono is dead doesn't mean that he really is.
Sorry but Oku isn't the most consistent storyteller, for example in a few chapters Kurono spoke in third person about the events like they all already happend (it was in the chapter after where he read about the end of the world on nishis site) and this seemed really important but hasn't been picked up again after that.
But please can we all wait and see if Kurono will ever be revived? This whole talk about him is pretty tiresome...

I hope HS chooses the weapon with his 100 points (he must be the first person in Gantz that got 100points in his first mission)

and i'm waiting for the alien with OVER 9000 POINTS!! ... no, not really, and hopefully not multiple 100 Pointers in one mission... maybe in a chapter with the German or American Team so that we can see the awesomeness of them.

btw, HS seems to have a new cigarette?

Think, I will gain hate now, but I didn't like Kurono anymore towards the end of phase 1. It became boring to follow his life and it didn't bother me at all to see him die, but I was allways more of a Nishi and Izumi fan... . Dunno what this has to do with the argument around old man.

Not only is he old, but he is one of the only purely moral characters in Gantz. I'm kinda disappointed in his participation in the current mission, but other missions, he has been a suitable backup character who was never afraid to get killed (and he almost did, in every mission, which would again make his final death unbelievable). Finally, look at what your asking. You're rooting for the death of the nicest old person ever. I hope Jota decides to support me in this argument.
Thought I agreed with you, that he's awesome inside the missions fighting, supporting, teaming up with kurono. But, that doesn't make him anymore interesting or usefull for the plot.

The "never afraid to die and fighting against all odds" was/is his only development, he gained when he spoke to his dead wife and when he tried to slightly model himself after kurono. and it's good how it is... But How is it possibile for him to develop further without losing his authenticity?

About his final death: idd it will be surprising, as much as Inabas death sooner or later. Oku is quite predictable lately... I bet he's going to sacrafice his life for somebody.

I don't think you could really compare the two. Sei is more of a dyke and she had no background story or reason other than Kurono. Anzu does have a reason to live outside and she looks to Katou to as a great father figure to raise her son up right. She is obviously not as shallow as she first appears to be which makes her unique outside of strictly being Katou character development.
Maybe I should edit my post and write, that they are both tough/strong in their own way. Sei being able to fight and Anzu caring for herself and a kid. Anzu may not be a fighter like Sei. but she defo. has to be strong to care for herself and a kid on her own.

Bold: That's what I meant with naive. Katou might look like a good father figure by the looks of his acts in this mission. But that doesn't mean a lot, he's still a teenager and going to school, besides all tha he has to care for his brother enough allready. Sei was being naive when she thought that she meant much to kurono just because they had sex.

Sei has no background, but you can aussume, that she had some issues... I wonder how she died in the first place.

    We might see or not...

Strangely enough Kurono ended up caring for Sei a bit.
etufo: HS is most likely going to die sooner or later. Who will kill the cool character killer?

Popo: well, obviously going by that logic, HS will have to kill himself...

    Predictable and unsatisfying.

He said he wouldn't care very much if she died. I don't think he would hesitate to leave, but HS might be a softy.

Default Difference between Katou and Kurono

um hello this is my first reply

like the title says the difference between Katou and Kurono is that Katou decide to slow he needs time while Kurono make his decisions fast we all saw it in the first chapter and i think he will revive Anzu first
and like someone said I don't know who it was I think Nuri will die in his first form

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Did I miss something? Because I thought that shot of Katou's brother was Katou imagining what his brother would be saying/doing if he was to die, as in wandering around searching for him. Besides, his brother would have to run a *very long way* to get from Tokyo to Osaka in time for the mission.

With respect to HS using his points, assuming he got the kill: Aside from possibly reviving his friend vampire, who's to say he's actually going to use his points? If he finds out that the choices are escaping, getting a weapon, or reviving someone, I think it's safe to say he's not using the last two choices. Now, if he wanted to, say get information about Gantz to relay back to the other vampires or to hinder the efforts of Gantz, then what better way to do it than from the inside?

I think he's just going to stay in and keep kill stealing until he dies in some manner, and just banking his points.
