yes, that is my claim. While it being a very weak theory, take a look at my support for such claim:

This seems fishy to me. While obviously the question is not supposed to mean anything, but this is too much of a coincidence for me to ignore. I feel that the writers are making a point here, by "accidentally" slipping in such a similar question for us.


So where does this go?
First, it definitely supports how and why Kurono is so powerful; he might have been doing this forever and he just didn't know. Second, it just opens up a lot of shit for us to explore and also the possibly that he might have to come back; since he could be a very very interesting character.

Looks like character development to me... Kurono has changed over that period of time from chapter 1 to chapter 226 and you just pointed out a good example of it. Don't think he's been to gantz prior to chapter 1 nope

While that would be awesome, I think dubol is right.

In the first episode, he's a complete ass to the old lady. He doesn't really seem to care. In the later episode, he seemed a little more friendly and out-going.

While I do think that it's a perfect example of Kei's character growth, this brings up an interesting question: if Kei's memories were erased, why does he still have the more caring personality? Shouldn't he have reverted back to the old asshole Kurono since he no longer had any recollection of the events that shaped his new personality? Don't memories shape the man?
On second thought, maybe that's more of a philosophical question.

@Angryman: About Kurono staying the way he is. I will try to explain though it might sound half assed.

Remember when Kurono cried when he saw Tae picture though he did not know why. It is the same with his increase self esteem and compassion. He feels better about himself but he does not know why. I do not think that Kurono would notice how much he changed unless someone points this out to him.

yep sorry to burst your bubble but more poetic device than revelation. Also tone down the language a bit, being confident is fine but be humble.

I don't know how much experience you have with forums, but but it's an odd thing for a 10 poster to say to someone with almost two hundred...
As for affirming when in fact everything you say is based on an opinion or conjecture, well, sorry to burst your bubble, it's so common currency in the gantz forum that when I read a post, I assume opinion and conjecture. You can't open/close every post you make with "conjecture/supposition/opinion". I personally only ever bother writing that down when I have either time to kill or if it's really massive conjecture/supposition/blablabla...
As for it being more poetic device than revelation, well, it's a positive post that points out something that hasn't been covered before. I mentioned something on this issue before, so it is obvious to me, but it may not be the case for others.
As for being confident but humble, and toning down the language, well, I think you could use some of your own advice...
As Livan himself said, the main argument is weak to begin with, so you can't really expect 600 word posts written with Austenian Style and Modesty. Commenting on the weakness or style of someone that has already admitted to not being able to achieve either is a bit unfair, don't you think?

As much conjecture this thread has, I think a better phrasing would have been is it possible Kurouno was in gantz before gantz started. Hell personally if I were to follow the original posters line of thought and think Kurouno was in Gantz before I would put that particular event placed sometime when he was a kid based solely on the fact on how Katou explaint the batshit insane things he did when Kei was younger(and add the fact we eveng et to see some said events drawn out however brif they may be).
But I would highly doubt it, but it would make for a neat plot device if it was true.
