Well, again something I like to point out here and again, one of the cheapest tricks a writer can use is to deliberately leave wholes, and odds and ends that don't quite make sense, and let the fans do the thinking. It reminds me of some random french movie my friend told me about once. Basically, the scenarist did not write out all of the lines, and then told the actors, "you know your roles, you know how to act, you know how the movie goes, so just improvise the lines". Everyone was like, "so cool, realistic, genius, bla, bla..." I just think its a convenient way to justify being lazy...

I completely agree on transfer being completely different for the different stages of a mission. When you are transferred to the gantz room it works one way, when you are trasferred to the hunt it works differently as we have seen that somehow you can move the parts of your body even if they are disconnected as seen in the second hunt. and when you are transferred back to the room after the hunt is over there is still another set of rules.

Indeed; the question of the veterans being imobilized before getting loaded into the room is interesting, I guess most assume this is Gantz way to say "either you get your suit beforehand or you're fucked", because since you'll be paralyzed, even if the suit is in front of you, you're done for.
Also, when coming back to the room, that doesn't apply, as seen with Izumi jumping back at the end of the dino mission.
If we were to divide the different types of transfer for analysis:
going into the room for the first time
going into the room for the second time onwards
    going to assigned mission area
getting back from assigned mission area

    Hm... ok now...

Not so sure on the issue of Izumi... does he keep going, or does he freeze in mid-air?
Off-Topic (somewhat): Izumi seems familiar with dealing with end of mission problems (read: vampires) - that back leap has, i don't know, a feel of practiced ease about it... But as always, conjecture, and does not prove anything new - we all know and agree Izumi is pro, but this may overlap into the memory issues that abound around the topic of Izumi.
Off-Topic (completely): Your thread has really come a long way, Cali. Good Job.

Just to further prove/clarification that some times you can move during transfer.
after the first mission is over kurono is holding kato and slapping him while he's being transfered.

and before the hunt starts he's nekked and searching the room for his suit, while being transfered.

If you think we're gonna make it,
    Hang on to your self.

The only times you don't seem to be able to move is when going into the room before the game. Kurono was searching for his suit before the first and for his gun before the second. I don't remember if the truck thing happened only in the anime or not...Because even the anime kinda retcons a bit when you see Kishimoto running while stealing food in the McDonalds-esque-mall-place. But I guess that' why no one looks to the anime for any answers. Back on track-It's hard to tell exactly what is what and if it really is Gantz's will. The easiest way to tell will be if and when the Osakans get to tell of their experiences after this is over. Like let's say Katou takes out Anzu and they share their experiences or something and compare their Balls(an odd thing to say I might add) then we might get some real definitive answers on rules or a single conformity to the Gantz way. Otherwise we're just guessing. I think Gantz just likes to freeze them when it's appropriate. Like Kurono groping Kishimoto or Kurono taking a shit. But then again it might just be Kurono was in a lot of compromising positions so it always just seemed funny to mess with him like that.

But mroe on point-couldn't they move during the last transfer? It seemed like they could move but were being handled by the vampires. Sakata moved because he lowers his gun mid transfer. The old man's head shifts slightly like he's leaning forward. Katou takes the solemn position he's in when the next chapter starts. But maybe the heightened level of danger changed something. Not to beat a dead horse word to death but-conjecture.

Well, they could always leave their suits in the room,as a matter of fact, most of them do. Well except Nishi & Kei.

^ I believe leaving the suit in the room was the habit when Katou was the leader, which means only in the Budha hunt - they are loaded wearing pajamas and get their suits from their cases again.

After Kurono's time comes, most likely all of them brought the suit back with'em. Back in the Ring Alien mission, do notice the ball is still closed and all of them are already wearing their suits as well as at the beginning of the Oni Alien mission, they are wearing the suits before the ball is opened, so that means they had their suits with them - not necessarily were wearing them.
And there's of course, the big fiasco in helping Kurono, when they all are suited up, not only Katou (since he was the only one who we got to see taking his suit back, for he had no other clothes).
EDIT: There is also the main proof of that, I just remembered, which is their training sessions...

I always thought the transfer works like this. You get the signal on your ear so you know that it's time. Then you have some time where you can still move (to get your stuff), before you freeze for transfer.

But maybe it doesn'T work that way all the time. Or Oku just screwed up at certain times

Yeah you get a signal from Gantz before the transfer. I guess that you have a minute or two to get prepared.
It did happened all the time remember before the Nuri mission they heard the same ringing so they knew they were going to be transfered.
