If Nuri`s still alive, the mission will never has an end..theres no time limit anywhere..
If Nuri`s still alive, the mission will never has an end..theres no time limit anywhere..
That still does not mean they will throw away their lives and not run away, though the hunting area becoming smaller will stop them from going home...Now that I think more about it, yeah unless there is a time limit and they are taken out of the area, or the area itself is lifted they have to beat nuri.
I believe the point brought up was exactly NOT talk about Nuri any longer.
On what's gonna happen next, although I think it should be more proper discussing it either on "latest manga chapter" or "interesting prediction/speculations", I'm interested in what Kikuchi's doing now. If he went to the vampires for info, and now some of them are actually part of the team. Also, it'd be interesting seeing HS back at the "vampires hq", to see if he'd need to report about the mission, so we could know whether he and his former 3 companions were indeed the vampire leaders or just vampire aces.
Sorry, but the vampire aces just made me laugh.
^ Well, it could be said they didn't die quite as quickly as all the others, but, yeah, I see what you mean.
Umm, since this thread seems to have turned into a Nuri fan-club, maybe covering some other, off-topics, wouldn't be too bad. Either way, we have our hands pretty much tied down until this arc ends (points get counted, maybe some reviving) and the next one begins (new transfers, blablabla).
We'll be back at it and very on topic then. The only question is who sets the ball rolling again with a 500+ word post... me or you? :-)
What dumbass gave this thread a one?!!!
Anyways, I'll give you a 500 word post.
The relationship with the vampires and the aliens is obviously not a coincedence. First off, we see blondie speaking with the Oni boss. Well that gives us a few factors.
1. Vampires and Aliens are allies
2. Vampires have nanotechnology running them.
3. Vampires drink blood
4. Vampires have reflexes that can match the suit but cannot take a hit the same way.
5. Blondie and Izumi have met before.
Theories of mentionable quality (feel free to add because I'm too lazy to go back and look all of them up).
1. Vampires come from a failed mission and are actually aliens.
This is my theory. Vampires are just another way that the aliens are infecting the society. If they can cause the humans to become their allies then they can sneak the vampires under Gantz's radar which is only concerned with alien enemies. Granted Tae was a human enemy but a single target. This gives reason for me to believe that the vampires and all the other aliens that are attacking at the moment have recently been untouched by Gantz. The first missions were mostly huntlike, while the later missions have been kinda like wars. So maybe the first were assassinations while when Gantz claimed he needed stronger people it could be because of an allout war that is going to breakout (Catastrophe). Thus the Vampires come out of their hiding after the dino mission. My guess is that the next aliens that Gantz is going to send the gantzers after are the vampires because
1. they are allies with the aliens
2. would make a good hunt
3. would force HS to pick a side
Now that HS is part of Gantz, I am wondering if he will reveal more about the secrets of the vampires, which have caused us all extreme ponderment. Judging that they have been there a very long time and how weak the enemies have been in Gantz in the past (more friendly looking at least) lead me to believe that the alien movement started as a slow colonization in order to find the weaknesses of the Gantzer. AKA NURI!!!! A former 100 pointer could have been sent as well to test the strength of the gantzers. It also seems that Tokyo has been thrown into the war slower than Osaka has been. This could be because the aliens have already destroyed most of the Tokyan gantzers and do not need to place strong forces there until this new team arises. Now to relate back to the transfering of HS. Could it be that Gantz is taking a hostage? or trying a different tactic? or just taking advantage of a good oppurtunity? I wonder if Vampires in the past have tried that and all died. If so, that would make sense that HS knew how to get inside but not how to kill Gantz. It was also lucky that Katou was their to save his ass. Anyways, there I don't know how many words that this is or if its discussable but blah.
I got p4wn3d by a penguin again T-T
Umm, man talk about dredging out the past - off the top of my mind; arguments on the vampire theory = aliens theory
The aliens we have seen in gantz have, for the most part, been very "alien" and more bent on "invading" with no more than the bare minimum of camouflaging (arguably to last no longer than it takes to build a strike force the likes of which we have seen in osaka). Vampires, on the other hand, appear to be very institutionalized - they have their own night clubs, and a rather extensive network of informants, and boast large numbers.
Arguably, they do not "need" to invade any further, or any more aggressively. They certainly have nothing to fear from humans, unless they were to draw the attention of the entire world upon them. Either way, given their apparent dependence on human blood, I doubt their ultimate aim is wholesale slaughter of human beings, which the Osaka arc aliens seem to revel in...
Still, it is possible that the Vampires are "forerunners" of the alien invasion, fostered by means of nanomachines, and tasked with scouting out threats. There is however, no evidence in the Manga to substantiate this claim, besides the argument that in Gantz, Vampires are the result of Nanotechnology, and Nanotechnology is a very long ways off from our technology level.
It is also possible that Vampires are responding preemptively to a "natural enemy". Gantzers are the equal of vampires in most regards, and superior in all others (i.e equipment additional features of suit besides str/def/spd).
Of course, if we work on the premise that Vampires thrive on existing anonymously, it seems very unlikely for them to attack Gantzers knowing these facts (don't forget that gantz is very covert as well), such that the most likely conclusion is that Gantzers probably hit them first due to
1) Vampire Mission (Either because Gantz wanted to test his Gantzers, or because Vampires really are aliens)
2) Some random Gantzer run afoul of them for some random reason, which alerted the Vampires to the existence of a potential threat.
A very modest 300 word post, for a change...
All this talk made me realize something; it's interesting that the vampires only came to attack the hunters after Izumi was back and had brought with him "strong people". It's hard to think it could be a coincidence. And anyway, if they have been a target before, Gantz must know pretty much all about them. (although I used the "if", I think it's pretty clear they were, given the seminar)
Now, on the vampires being aliens or not, that's another question, that can expand to other beings. Except for Tae and the Nurarihyon, all other targets were "seijin". Althought it could be said all of them have what it takes to be commonly classified as aliens, the Tanaka is the best choice to defend they are indeed unearthly; the adult and young Tanaka Aliens, by themselves can't really survive in the Earth's atmosfere, hence needing special equipment. Of course, the young ones seemed just fine, but even so, that other ended up dying because he couldn't make it back to his "shell". And on the youkai issue, the "give back the land" speech also weights to the idea of some of them being earthlings.
The vampires could be native from Earth, and be kept in secrecy because they prey on humans. And it'd be explainable they have advanced technology unreached by current human developments, because if everybody knew about those, it would be a disadvantage. It's easier however assume they are aliens, because they are acquainted to other aliens; and it doesn't seem this is limited to the Oni aliens, after all there was the mention of a "common language", which the Tengu knew. So, it's also assumable there is an "Alien society", and even hostile and non-humanly-disguised aliens are part of it. (Although the Tengu shouldn't be an alien either, if Nurarihyon isn't one)
But, even if the vampires are seijin too, they retain part of their humanity. It seems a sort of symbyosis; Akira retained part of his humanity, and so did the vampire girl, apparently.
And, not that I have any problems with this discussion, but maybe a Vampire thread would be nice? That is, if there isn't one lost around the earlier posts...
Oh. I guess I'll search for it.
EDIT: Well, I've found some, now to check on what's discussed there...
EDIT2: OK, so, the vampires' threads (around 10) are pratically buried pretty deep in the past, being this one the one I found most relevant to proceed with our speculation (although a few of the others had one or another interesting thing to point out currently):
off-topic: WOW. Back in the days, there were girls around here @@
