Not just because he says the world is getting invaded.

But I disagree that Kurono's chibi mission was pretty hard. It was hard because he acted like an idiot.
Jumping so close to the alien without thinking. Had he used the radar, advanced slowly and watched them from another roof, he could've spotted how many aliens he was facing, without being surrounded. That already helps alot.
Then just snipe them from a distance while they try to get close (he knew the rifle could do that).
Or even better, observe them and lock-on to all the aliens you can see (although I don't know if he knew about that feature back then) and snipe the rest.
If you use the stealth function on top of that the mission get's fairly easy (don't know if he knew about that either).
But even if he didn't knew about stealth and lock-on, just with sniping it get's easier.
When they stop jumping from roof to roof because they are easy targets and try to get to you some other way, you just shouldn't stay on the same roof.
Change position and snipe them when the reach the top.
That way even if you don't kill them all, at least you can end the mission without having your suits arms ripped off and hiding like a little girl.
It's just that Oku didn't want it to go down that way. Kurono had to lose that mission (probably also in the way he did) for him to grow.
