Since I find myself in agreement with this rather sound theory I can do nothing more than congratulate you on creating a quality thread, Tousen. Very nice.
In order to 'acknowledge' the 'irony' I would have to learn two new words today.

    ...

...And I'm not going to do that.

Or since he was a vampire, and it said if he didn't drink human blood that spot would appear on his back(it was shown in that scene with his girlfriend commenting on it) and he'd not be nearly as strong, perhaps getting his strength back meant drinking blood. He might not remember having to do that, since he seems to have forgotten he was a vampire. Or did he become one afterwards?

Or maybe he remembers being stronger, but doesn't remember how to use the suit properly to maximize the strength.

Anyway, I was pointing that some missions were set up in advance, and others were just there because there was an emergency that just happened.

excpet they were not, we already have proof on the dreamcast aliens and it's very likely nishi failed a few missions just to keep himself alive.

sorry for the double post, that happens while reading threads backwards.

"dreamcast aliens"? I would be glad if you could clarify that for me, for as far as I'm concerned, in the manga, the only sure failed missions are the vampires, which is not actually show but implied by the speech I mentioned earlier and the chibi alien, who later was killed by Kurono. Nishi might have failed missions before, sure, but at least for some time, no he didn't, otherwise he wouldn't get 90 points.

Thats the theory anyway, you killed it... Damn you! Go read the manga again.

Max, use the edit button next time. I know what you mean though.

    Tousen, excellent thread

Cali, I had never thought that way about the vampires but now that you mention it, I believe it would highly be likely that they were survivors from a previous mission. The only problem I have with it is that when the lady explained to Akira the history of the Vampires, didn't she say they were around for centuries? And also, vampires are not the strongest foe, so how would an Izumi led team run out of time, unless HS or somebody escaped from the grid. (but that def doesn't sound like him.)

The "Dreamcast" aliens are the Chibi aliens, Cali. Pretty hard to miss the reason behind the name for obvious aesthetic reasons.

Are you sure you shouldn't be a Mod, Popo? You sound awfully like one these few lines... No wait, Tet would actually have been a wee bit nicer, lol.

True, but still, if we go too far off topic, we might as well start a new thread (or even better resume an old one). Anyway, just to try and get this thread back on track...

Umm, the 3 sadists got a little bit of help from HS as well - one can only speculate as to why he was brought in by Gantz - The simplest reason would be that he is strong, and the Gantz Team needs someone to sub for Izumi - Gantz' Samurai - Hence (Host) Samurai. I expect him to be around until Izumi comes back, or forever if Izumi doesn't.
Anyways, the main point of this post is this - The theory is that Gantz only chooses people that dies - That's just a load of shit, considering how easily he can warp HS/plant bombs in his brains/Zero his powers inside the room. Also considering that Gantz can remotely detonate the bombs at any time (remember the Yakuza with the X-gun), it's obvious that Gantz did not care about the Sadist Trio - he just let HS kill them (but then again,HS might lose points for TK, mmo shoot style, lol).
My point is that not only in game, but when he chooses who to revive, Gantz plays favorites - there are even some people that seem to be put there just to die - the monk dying was enjoyable - in the twisted, saddistic sort of way Gantz appreciates (lately, so do I - Inaba)

Actually, I still don't get the nickname, but thanks for clarifying it.

@maximilianjenus: About the vampires being "the only aliens that got out alive", I was referring to the hunts from before Kurono's time, I must've used a poor tense choice, sorry. Anyway it's still kinda preposterous that only them would have survived a hunt before, otherwise the timer rule wouldn't go on for as long as... who knows. So it was a lame idea anyway.

@Popo: I had forgotten about that woman. It makes me wonder for how long Gantz itself has been around, and whether the other alien races are as old as all that. And about Izumi's team losing it, I guess it's really hard to swallow, but I'm still inclined to think so, since HS seemed to have a score to settle with him.
