That doesn't really prove anything. The Tokyo Gantz team is taking part of a hunt in Osaka. Does that mean they are from Osaka? No. It is possible that Izumi was in another Gantz team and was sent to Tokyo (Shinjuku street) like the Tokyo team was sent to Osaka. So, even though he remembers that hunt in Shinjuku, it doesn't mean he was from Tokyo. The Tokyo Gantz members that survive this hunt will certainly remember this hunt, and they're not from Osaka...

Of course, as someone mentioned, the Gantz Manual pretty much kills this theory. However, before trying to shoot down someone else's theory, come up with a more solid argument.

to be fair sandman your ripping on his counterarguement just because it doesnt disprove it 100 percent, but nothing perfect and i'd say maddogs arguement was good enough to not be criticized.

The last statement of my post does seem overly critical, and for that I apologize. The main thing I was disproving is the use of the word "conclusive proof". To use a term such as that, you would need undeniable evidence to support your statement. Although his argument shows that the theory could be false, there is also an equal amount of arguments that shows that his arguments are flawed. So, it was a fair argument that may null the original theory (if accompanied by other evidence), but it is not solid enough to be classified as "conclusive proof". An example of conclusive proof would be the Gantz Manual, which says that Izumi was from Tokyo, and that the other Gantzers in his flashback were not Oka.

Usually the only thing I take as "conclusive proof" is if we see it either stated clearly or visualized in the manga. Anything else is fair game. I could say that Reikas smile is conclusive proof that she uses an Oral B toothbrush and Colgate. Conclusive proof would be a link to chapter xyx page xy that shows her in the bathroom with the name brands clearly displayed. So the theory could hold water if not for the Gantz Manual (which I still don't understand fully, but whatever).

I myself get annoyed when people say something is a definite fact when it's really just a theory or opinion. Even if it's a logical conclusion, anything can happen in a manga so I would prefer to see how a situation plays out before stating that something is definite. In this case what MadDogMike stated was evidence but it wasn't conclusive proof. But it's a forum. If every post was really conclusive proof then there wouldn't be much to talk about.

the gantz manual is official by oku hiroya, so it is as canon as the manga is.
