Now that you know she doesn't really care about others, and is shallow as can be, just putting on an act when it suits here, does this change your opinion of her?
She falls in love with the jerk Kurono for no reason, just seeing how awesome he was in battle, thinking he cool.
Dinosaur mission, when they first meet.
Reika playing the helpless female, "oh no, what ever should I do? I have a gun so I can come with you and help you fight."
Kurono: "No, your suit is damaged, so you just give your gun to a man and let him handle it. I know that none of these men have suits on, but it doesn't matter, since they are men, and you are a helpless woman who needs protection. That's how our society works."
And then the guy that gets the gun from her says "don't worry, I'll protect you," trying to play that path of seduction.
Reika: "I'll hand over my gun to a man though, despite he not having a suit or anything, and then let someone else handle things, because I don't like to take charge or do anything on my own."
By the way, anyone else read the wikipedia article about the idol phenomenon in Japanese culture? I can't link to it because I haven't made enough post yet to be able to post web links. I found it rather interesting.
