Thread: Oka

So a lot of expectation has been build around the future appearance of Oka Hachirou, and only some facts are known about him.
Anzu mentioned that Oka usually hides and stays invisible. It is also known he has cleared the game 7 times and that he once killed a 100 pointer alien by himself. Also it has been speculated that he uses a mecha but this is yet to be confirmed.

So what do you guys think about Oka, how is his personality, his appearance, his approach to the hunts? does he has a mecha?.....



I think he is kinda nerdy looking guy, clumsy with most of the stuff he do and with a weird/twisted sense of humor, someone you wouldn't think will excel in the Gantz environment. He maybe likes to remain in stealth mode just to see some action and once he sees an opportunity he'll attack.
And no mecha.

An Osakan Nishi, but more twisted and sadistic. Average height and likely to be a high school student.

Just like Izumi. Wanting to be the best and feeling like the GANTZ world is where he belongs. I'd say he's almost the same build as Kaze. I know Oku might wanna throw us off by making him scrawny but if that's the case, would the Osakans underestimate the Tokyans?

I think he'll be younger than most Gantzers. Younger than Nishi which will make him feel like a loser. It's not much of stretch to assume that he'd be kind of cold and weird from being in Gantz for so long. He was probably the prototype for the Osakan attitude.

I agree. I think Oka's gonna turn out to be a bit of a sick kid who thinks it's all a game and loves it, but isn't stupid enough to get overconfident.

Thirded, though I also endorse the comedy option: Oka is Kuruno.

would be cool if Oka turned out to be a female although it is said that Oka is a guy ( I think)

To be honest, I'm expecting a quiet, socially phobic, basically distant "nice guy" who just learned to stay back and take out the enemies from a distance or simply wait till they grew lazily defenseless to take them out.

Nothing much to that, really. Just seemed like it would make sense as an option.

Well put. Probably the dominant factor is the Osaka attitude. This is likely the outcome of being leaderless. It's fun to see a less organized gantz team :P
