The Gantz RP: Prologue
If you are not participating in this game, do not post in this thread.
OOC: Ok, here's how the games going to be played out. This will be a multi thread game. So for example, this thread is obviously for posting your initial reactions as you enter and interact with people in the room. The next thread in this game will cover the first half of the mission. The one after that will cover the second half of the mission. Finally, the last thread will cover the epilogue. Does that sound good to everyone?

IC: It has been six weeks since the hunt for the “Perverted Alien”. Many of the survivors have settled back into their normal lives not knowing of the great dangers that await them. No, they have other things to worry about. Why should they care about saving humanity from ultimate destruction? Well, I assure you that thought process will end after the game tonight. I’m going to give them one hell of a game. Although I’m a little sad that some of the survivors will not be joining us this time. There was a lot of potential in some of them, which was all wasted when they gave away my secrets to their friends. So, I showed those little fuckers my true power. I get the feeling some of them were impressed too… Ah, it’s time to start.
An unknown source causes a chill; the returning Gantzers have been frozen in their positions. They're all afraid, “What’s happing?!” they ask themselves. As many questions start to race trough their heads, an answer is given to all of them by way of teleportation. That’s right! The process has begun! The game of death starts anew tonight. How many survivors will there be this game? If what you guys are facing tonight is as good as I heard… none of you will survive. So yeah, I’ll probably never see you guys alive again.
The participants are now arriving. Who will be first into the room? What really awaits them in this game of death? You’ll just have to play and find out won’t you…
[Post initial reactions and thoughts; interact with the other players if you wish.]
She felt her legs standing on a solid platform of sorts, her vision still blurred and unable to make out anything. Was this hell? she thought to herself but before long she questioned if she was still alive or dead as her sense of touch on her hands returned slowly. Moving her fingers she was certain it was the familiar feeling of her pistol weighing down on her right hand. Sooner than she imagined possible, she felt her vision turning from a blur of light to be focused around her current surroundings. Where in the world was she?
She immediately traced her memories. Scene of gunfight and her partner's death followed by her own death by the same hands she trusted, but before her departure to the afterlife Motoko vaguely remembered firing a round right against the assaulter's kneecap until vision blurred around her pupils...
Pointing her firearm against the residents within the small room she questioned.
"I'm with the police," she lied "I demand where and how you've brought me here! Now!"
It was just like every day. Compared to other evenings, it was even more quiet than usual. How in hell could Naomi have known, that it would change her life that dramatically to take the same short cut she used over and over again, for weeks, even months? Destiny really has a sadistic sense of humour.
She didn’t hear the first one coming. He was right behind her and grabbing her arms, before she could react. But he didn’t pay attention to her head. What began as his laugh of triumph turned into a scream of pain. She turned around and pushed him away going into a defensive position. A second man appeared from the shadows, just in front of her. He was close, both of them were, but they held their positions, threatening her with there mere presence. She knew that if she turned her back to them, they would catch her in no time. She couldn’t even turn her head around to look where she was walking, so she went backward blindly. That’s when the third one joined them. He didn’t make a mistake. He came close to her in the shadows, unseen, unnoticed and without causing the slightest noise. He was as invisible as a ghost. With one hand he pulled her arm brutally behind her back, causing her shoulder joint to make a noise like a faint gunshot together with such a heavy pain that she would have screamed, but with his other hand he pulled her head back, closing her mouth, making it hard for her to breath and impossible to move. He said: “You look pretty good. You’re young. And you seem to have much temper. You’re exactly my type.” While he spoke, the other ones came closer, grinning and nodding at his words, and together they dragged her deeper into the lane and then they helped the one holding her to pull her other arm behind her back, letting its joint make the same noise and pain to her, and then they tied her up with adhesive tape, from wrist to elbow. At this point, they started to pull her jeans down, and that’s when she stopped struggling. She was aware of what was going to happen, and she knew, that she wouldn’t be able to hold them up. Her only chance was to endure it. They seemed to be in a hurry, just pulling clothes down or moving them away, but not stripping them off. And than…
It was horrible. Her stomach was burning, as if there was a fire in her, that was about to melt her inner organs while she still was alive. She felt anger and indescribable hatred towards those three. The worst thing about it was the pain in her stomach, caused by the heat, but also in her joints, because they pulled her arms back if she didn’t obey or hesitated. The whole thing was that crucial for her that she had to grip tightly to her mind that was about to slip away. Finally, it was over. Never before in her life was Naomi that happy about something to end. She felt dirty. But the fear went away. They seemed to be finished. But they were still close and talked to each other, while they pulled their shorts and pants up: “What about taking her with us? She was my first virgin and definitely one of the best I ever had.” “That’s ‘cause you didn’t have that many. But didn’t you notice? Damn bitch broke my nose! Though… I have to admit, that she really was good. So, why not?” Their ‘Boss’ said: “Because we can’t carry a school girl around with us. It was fun to do her here, as soon as she stopped struggling, but do you think that she will go on with it? As soon as we’re on the street, she’ll start screaming. And I can’t hold her back like I did before, when we’re out there.” “What to do?” “She saw our faces. Cut her throat.” Her eyes widened. To hear that they would kill her, felt so… unreal. She couldn’t move and wasn’t able to do anything more than whisper for help, for, because of the fear, she lost control about her body. The one who wanted to take her with them, drew closer and kneeled down. With one hand he touched her face, moving some strands of her light brown away. “It really is a pity. I bet you’d like me to do you every day, don’t you?” She looked at him, her eyes still widened, her lips moving mutely. “Enough chit-chat. Finish her”, ordered the cold voice of their leader. The man sighed, pulled out a knife and pulled it in single movement over her throat. She felt a sharp pain and something warm running down her neck. The next moment, as she tried to breath, she made a high pitched noise instead and she could hardly fill her lungs. The man who first raped her and now killed her gave her a short smile, than stood up, turned around and walked away, talking with his two comrades. Naomi lay there. It became even harder to breath. She was cold. It wasn’t only her peel but she felt it also inside her. Her view started to become blurry when she heard footsteps. Or maybe she only felt them, lying on the ground. However, someone came close and noticed her. A man. “Oh my god” were his first words, but than he went on: “Hold out! I’ll go and call an ambulance!” He ran away, to the street. But by the time he found somebody who answered to his call for help, Naomi’s view had already faded and she didn’t feel anything anymore. Just one last thought routed her synapses: I wish I would have dated Jake back than… Just before her mind plunged into absolute darkness, too fast for her to give another thought his understandable appearance, she wished that her last thought before death wouldn’t have been for a boy she ditched, cause she didn’t like him. But then her suffering was finally over.
At least, she thought it was. Maybe she hoped it was, so that she wouldn’t have to think about what happened to her, that she could sleep forever the cold sleep of death and she could forget about it, forget about everything. But the next moment, her senses returned. She started to feel her body again, strangely from afar at first. She held her eyes shut tightly. Around her were voices. All of them seemed to whisper, even though in reality none of them did. Where… am I? She tried to figure it out. Eventually, she remembered the man who wanted to call help. So, actually, he made it. He called an ambulance and they arrived in time. This has to be a room in a hospital. My parents and friends must be around me, lying in a bed, waiting for me to wake up… She tried to move her hands a little bit. Of course she assumed that her hands would be lying on her stomach. But now that she tried to move, she felt once again the sharp pain in her joints. It was different, she somehow knew that they were healed, but it was so intense that she also knew, that it could happen again, what happened to her. And now she felt, that the adhesive tape was still there. All of this knowledge flashed through her mind in less than half a second, while she gave a noise of pain from her, trying to avoid doing it. She opened her eyes and locked around. It wasn’t a hospital room. It was a room like in the apartment, where the girl she tutored lived. She was lying on the floor. There was a black ball a few metres right from her. Left were two doors. In front of her was a wall with another door near the ball. And behind her were windows which she couldn’t see clearly. Actually, she didn’t want to, because something caught her attention: People were around. People she didn’t knew. Several of them were man. Seeing them, and now noticing that she was almost naked, her body still exposed, her jeans and panties pulled down her legs while her shirt and bra were pushed aside. She would have been ashamed, but there was no space left inside her for shame. Everything was filled with fear, once again. She shivered all over and pushed herself away, using her feet, just to get as far away from everyone, back herself into a corner. Tears filled her eyes. It… can’t be. They didn’t kill me. They drugged me and pretended to kill me, while they really brought me to this place, to other men. Why me? Why does this have to happen to me? Not thinking about it, just scared half to death, she yelled: “Please! No more! I can’t take anymore! Don’t hurt me anymore! Please! Don’t hurt me!” While she did and arrived in the corner, she started to sob heavily. She said “Please!” and “No more!” over and over again, but it was hard to understand it with her trembling voice. She pulled her legs close to her, laid her forehead onto her knees and cried, expecting her suffering to start again.
OOC: Actually, Naomi is the last one to be transfered to the room. As you can read, she can see everyone else. Even Motoko, though she doesn't pay attention to her and her gun. I post it now, because I may be asleep when you guys start to post, so you can react to her. Just keep in mind, that she'll be the last one.
Tomoe had assumed that the odd sensation she felt was due to the fact that she had been invisibly stalking the teenager responsible for the practical joke that led to her being trampled to death by her neighbors before pushing him in the path of a speeding subway car.
When her feet began to disappear it became obvious what was happening. She disengaged her invisibility and waited for the teleportation process to finish.
Once inside she noticed someone brandishing a gun and demanding answers. Tomoe supressed a chuckle.
Just like Saigo she thought.
She slowly approached Motoko with her hands in the pockets of her overcoat and trying not to come across as awkward and strange as she normally did.
"I don't know much, but I can tell you what I know." Tomoe paused and remembered to bow and introduce herself. "I'm Tomoe Shimada, by the way. Shoot when you're ready. Um, I mean questions. Feel free to shoot them, not me."
Dino smiled as strummed the strummed the Fender Stratocaster. 'Perfect,' he thought, and looked over to the nervous looking store owner. "It's great" he stated, though he knew the store owner didn't understand him. Nobody in this fucking country did. He smiled and nodded, like everyone else. "You buy? You buy?" the store owner squawked impatiently. He nodded and gave him a credit card, and sighed, looking at the gift he had bought himself in celebration of getting his new occupation with the government. An incredibly lucrative occupation with the government. The small man took the credit card with a shaking hand. 'What the hell is this problem? Damn racist.' Dino thought. His thoughts drifted to the gift he would buy for his wife, and the hot loving he would probably get as a reward. He smiled as he thought of her soft curves and silky skin, and didn't notice the salesman dart beneath his desk. He heard a series of loud noises, sharp pain all over his body, and then...blackness.
He opened his eyes. He was laying upon a cold, unfamiliar floor. People were talking around him. His hand still clutched the neck of the guitar he had purchased. He looked at it. It was full of holes. He sighed and scratched his scalp. The large afro that sat upon his head made it stuffy and was filled with static electricity for some reason. He stood up and looked at himself. His new suit was full of holes, and most of the tie he was wearing had been ripped off. He groaned- that was an expensive outfit.
Dino once again realized there was other people in this new room. A handful of people were around, some of them talking, most of them seemed as confused as he was. A large black ball loomed a few feet away from him. A girl in a trench coat seemed to be explaining things to somebody, but he was in no mood to talk. He didn't know where the hell he was, he didn't know how he got there, and he sure as hell didn't know what the hell was going to happen next. He calmed himself, took a deep breath, and proceeded to walk and sit in the corner. The flat they were in was small, and smelled kinda weird. He sighed once again, closed his eyes, put his head against the wall, and pondered.
OOC: God I love the name I gave my character.
(Kirst got transferred lying on the floor huggin his axe, like children with bears)
Kirst stand up, lookd at the ball and then asked to the next person that got summoned: "is the dinner ready?".
OOC: made this so Kirst can be the first to get transferred if noone else wants(i noticed everyone implied "other people speaking" or something like that in their posts).
Tomoe was torn between her desire to help the people as best she could and her discomfort with dealing with other people. The prospect of getting shot by Motoko seemed like the more attractive option than explaining their situation.
She waited for for Koi or one of the others who had been with her before to explain things in her place.
"Shit. Okay...uh, who here doesn't believe in aliens? Well start. That's why we're here."
She desperately searched her mind for other relevant information but couldn't think of anything.
"Oh yeah, we also have to kill them."
Tomoe decided to quit when it was apparent she couldn't adequately relay the weirdness of their situation.
She ignored the gun and sat down against the wall across from the black ball. She just wanted to begin fearing for her life rather than deal with her current awkward situation.
Dino stared at the crazy girl sitting across from him who had been babbling something about killing aliens. He didn't like her. She had a terribly nervous and awkward disposition, and she had the air of a murderer about her. He would be watching her closely, he decided.
Something snapped in his brain. Aliens? Hmm...odd coincidence, considering he had just accepted a job near the top of the ladder in the government. Was this some sort of test? Some sort of proving grounds? And...aliens...were they real? Was this the actual job he had been hired for? Killing these 'Aliens' or whatever they were? 'Well,' He smiled. 'I'd hate to disappoint.'
He looked around. Besides the odd girl, there was another strange woman with a gun, a large snake curled up in the corner, and a man with an axe staring into space. 'Weird group,' he thought. Were they here for the same reason? Why the hell was there a snake? Why were his clothes in tatters? More importantly, where were the weapons? He sighed impatiently, stood up, and started to stretch. 'This is goin' to be a long night.'
Tomoe sighed and cautiously walked over to the man close to her age gripping the axe like it was a child.
She hoped the one that looked the least sane would believe her.
"Aliens. I'm serious. If you're not prepared you'll die."
As she spoke she gripped the sword in her coat pocket with the intention of extending it through Kirst's head the moment he did something spooky. While she didn't want him to die, she liked the idea of her dying even less.
She opened her overcoat slightly and revealed the tight leather-like outfit the black sphere had provided her on her last mission. "That ball is going to open and you'll find a case with your name inside. Inside that you'll see some clothes like this. They'll protect you."
Great, the one who will probably survive this is the one that's bugfuck, space-cadet crazy.
Tomoe left Kirst and retreated back to her position against the wall staring ahead at the black sphere that now controlled their lives. She thought about the people in her last battle and hoped that they would show up soon.
"Koi. Saigo. Joshua. Alphonse. Please get here soon," she muttered to herself. Tomoe lifted her head to look at the sphere. "And you...hurry the hell up and start the easy part."
She took a few deep breaths and waited quietly for either others to come or to start fighting.
('Ill be uploading a picture hopefully later on in an early and timely fashion, and Koi has his suit on, denim pants, and the gun he took previously on him when he enters the room.)
Koi had been spending the past few months going to school, and when that let out he would go home, so as to make sure no one was following him. He figured that the whole mess with the aliens and the room with the black ball, as well with everything that was inanomate related to it shouldn't be discussed or revealed to anyone. Nothing solid was behind this assumption, just one of those things were you get that feeling of revealing a secret only to be thought of as crazy, resulting in too many problems as is, or worse.
After returning home he would "hang out" with friends, which was so his parents wouldn't question him for staying out so late. Secretly he went to train with the new gun he snuck out from before. Going to a secluded place in the forest where no one could find, see, or hear him. He had no idea how long he would have to train just that the first month was the hardest, trying to perfect his aim, and building other mechanisms to make moving targets as well as other mechanisms that would force him to move.
From the overall six weeks Koi has felt that his aim has improved greatly, especially on hitting moving targets, however he can't help but feel that he is missing an important feature of the gun itself but can't put his finger on it.
Now before the transfer started Koi had been messing around in front of the mirror like a 15 year old moron, striking poses, while oddly wearing only the suit and his pants, trying out different looks, quick drawing the gun, placing it in his pants instead of his holster, and finally flexing. It so happens that he was flexing and about to make a sounds right when he started to transfer.
"GAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN!" Wait, this feels...oh crap. Koi quickly notices he was transferred into the room with the ball....with new people? So he gets more to replace those who fell? Forgetting his emberrasment/idiotcy from before he looks around to see if another person from before is there...barely noticing Tomoe, seemingly more meek than last he remembered her.
"Yo Tomoe, glad to see you didn't die again, hehe" he says walking closer to her, "so whats up? You start improving your social skills?" Damn man you can make some lame ass jokes, you could have said something much better to try and get her out of whatever the hell is making her timid.
